I ended up being in the right place at the right time, and got this board for a much lower price. It should be in next week. I can't wait to build it. Good vid. But why doesn't anyone say what the "ON/OFF" switch is above the safe boot button????

How much did you get it for
@AquaStevae

@@SGOVisions I got it for $600. But I have since sent it back and gotten a full refund as it would not run properly after using the Dim.2 slot for the two extra ssd's. I then went full upgrade with a Ryzen 7950X, Strix E and 64GB of DDR5 6000 RAM. IF you're going to pay premium prices, might as well go with the latest and greatest platform...

so to be clear and see if im correct. i got 3 m.2's, if i would occupie socket 1,2 and 3 mij gpu wil drop to 8x. If i would use m.2 socket 1 and put the other 2 m.2's in the dimm2 module dan all wil be on full speed.?.

That's right - I would recommend installing your second and third M.2 drives on the DIMM.2 module instead, so as not to reduce the bandwidth of the primary PCIe x16 slot to x8 speeds for your GPU.

@@ALKtech another question you maybe knows, if i use the dimm.2 with 2 NVmE's wil that have consequenses, like slowing down something else? maybe the ram? im gonna use 4 ram sticks.

@@2684dennis you'll be fine - the DIMM.2 slot operates independently of the main system RAM and will not affect performance in any way!

@@ALKtech From what I've seen on other videos, you can occupy all five m.2 slots, and the FIRST PCIe slot with your GPU will STAY at X16, and ONLY the second PCIe slot will be disabled, not that the first will drop to X8. So I'm wondering which one of you is correct?

Is it possible to use all five nvme slots even if everything is ready to the chipset without reducing bandwidth for the gpu?
@ALKtech
Жыл бұрын
This is not possible unfortunately, the three M.2 slots on the board utilise PCIe lanes from the processor, and as shown in 10:04, if you populate M.2_2 and M.2_3 concurrently, the PCIe bandwidth for your GPU will be reduced...

@@ALKtech thanks for responding on such an old video I really appreciate it! I don't suppose off the top of your head you know any x570 another words that are roughly this quality and can fit more m.2 drives then 3? Trying to build the ultimate pcie Gen 4 build. Don't care too much about the price tag as long as quality and features are top-notch.

@@Slacker28 happy to help! How many M.2 drives in total are you looking at using? You might want to look at the Gigabyte X570S AORUS MASTER that has four M.2 slots - one of these slots shares bandwidth with the PCIe x16 slot that operates at x4 mode. You could also try looking at MSI's website for high-end X570S board offerings - those from the MEG range for instance!

Much appreciated! Best overview of this board on KZitem. Today I’ve been building myself a new workstation with this motherboard and and the new EK-Quantum Momentum² Monoblock. Your video helped med figure out how to connect the Fan Controller correctly among other things. The ASUS manual is far from complete :) Thank you.

Thanks for the kind words - great to hear that this video was useful for you! Sounds like you've got quite a beast of a build right there - what are some of the other components that you've selected for your build?

This rig is of course somewhat overkill for most of my work, but it is a nice gaming rig too though :D I wanted to compose a proper maxed out standard desktop for Solidworks and Photoshop. Next upgrade will probably be to replace the 3090 to a AMD W6800 card. I'll will order a custom CNC-milled waterblock for that card, as I have tinnitus and prefer not to listen to fan wining when working, and that graphics card will likely be reusable in the next rig, after AMD releases their next gen cpu's, maybe next year. This rig is not yet completely silent, but when the new radiators arrive I’ll will move out of the BeQuiet 802 case into a IKEA Baggebo cabinet (or similar furniture cabinet) and trim that one with sound damping air filters and some foam sound mufflers, vibration dampers and such.
