Many people think of Van Halen as the best at playing solos... in reality his rhythm parts are unmatchable, not technically, but due to the idea he had of the guitar... it was all there, power, groove, tone ... and you are an incredible guitarist, who interprets it at its best:

We had VH play in our backyard party in 1974 before any of their own songs were made. They were the #1 backyard garage band in the San Gabriel Valley. It cost us $200 the first time when they played in El Monte Ca. and $300 the second time when the Party in the Desert was busted before it started. I saw them play right after they signed with their record label in 75 or 76 at the Golden West Ballroom in Norwalk Ca. It was a dance hall on Thursday nights for rock and roll and that Thursday night it was a concert that headlined UFO and Van Halen. They both played their first original songs off of their first LP's. It was beyond amazing to hear history being made and nobody knew it at that time. Van Halen definitely was far better than UFO that night, and as history has proven. I am commenting on the Panama video and it's just my opinion...Old fat grandpa lead man that can't sing with a talented tourist back-up band with too many players on stage. When did sweatpants become "Rock-Wear"? I was more than disappointed when I have seen way better cover bands playing at the NASCAR Races in Phoenix Az. Again...This is just my opinion. I have also given advice to a young Chayce Beckham who in the beginning of his songwriting career was into Reggae Music and wrote about what he knew about at the time...Booze, Broads and Blunts. I told his stepdad give him time, he is only writing about what he knows about now. As time went on he would win the American Idol Contest in season 19 in 2021. I hope everyone keeps on rocking and you can like or love whatever kind of music that floats your boat. River Rick out.
