They were planning to make dlc for 5 like they did for 4 but since 5 Online is so successful they canceled it. 1:10:41 - fun fact: the Tanner character is actually a dig by Rockstar towards the Driver franchise, as they gave him a female walking animation. Asuka also mentions he's "useless without his car". @@thatboy799 i guess if you play driver expecting it to be like gta then you'll be disappointed, the thing with driver was that it's whole focus was on the driving. it's honestly kind of weird to compare the two series since they basically have nothing in common besides letting you drive around in realistic settings. driver's vehicle handling beats gta any day for me though, the sounds of the tire screeches are so satisfying
@superstriker412

@@quackmasterson5128 As a kid who wasn't allowed to play GTA I would compare them. Now that I have played both series' I enjoy both fir their own reasons. GTA is great for playing gangster. Driver is great for playing getaway driver. Driver San Fransisco is utterly underrated, I hate that Ubisoft has completely delisted it from online stores. Though it certainly isn't the same as the first couple games. My favourite GTA is definitely 4 for it's physics and the DLC. The driving, shooting, and overall realism is superior to 5 imo, but I can see why they made it less realistic in that game.

Жыл бұрын
@@thatboy799 >"Obviously the inferior game lmao." You probably still see these games from a perspective of a salty kid who was denied playing GTA. But as driving games, especially for their time, Driver was pretty damn cool. Driver 1 was easily the most advanced driving game of its time and it was a joy to play. But I agree that when these games started mimicking GTA with Driver 3, the series went downhill. But then Driver San Francisco came out and, well let's say that it's still on of my favorite driving games ever released. I play it to this day. Fellating R* hard with that take lol. Even if LA was foggy in the 90s and you couldn't see at times because of the massive amounts of orange fog, that would not be necessary to include anyways as San Andreas isn't even a real place. It's a fictional amalgamation of several American cities such as Las Vegas, San Francisco, and ofc Los Angeles. Also, that issue mainly is with the PS2 version of the game, and to prove my point further it is possible to replicate with mods but only those with nostalgia for the PS2 copy play with that mod.

I hate that you missed this but, the precise reason why rider was killed off is that his voice actor left the project halfway through. Supposedly because of Rockstar's disrespect towards their voice actors and lack of pay. There is no dialogue in that mission between CJ and Rider, because they didn't have enough voice lines to assign to the character.
@TheInfamousLegend27
Жыл бұрын
he didn't leave, this is was debunked by MC Eiht (Ryder's VA) himself. Rockstar told him that they had all the voicelines they needed, the direct quote from him was "that's all they wanted me to do". this misinformation has gone on long enough lmao

Wow a 9 hour video from someone who has not a lot of subscribers shows how passionate (or how much free time you have lol) you are about the subject. Also is great to see the original two games getting some love and recognition, they always get skipped for no reason in these kind of restrospectives, they were great for the time and they are still pretty fun.

5:30:55 the foreshadowing for michelle was actually done really well in 1 key moment at the beginning of the game. On the first date Niko comments on how everything in her house has the tags still on them. While michelle plays this off as her just being “clean” this small detail is actually brilliant. Since she is a government agent they set up her apartment so she could complete her job. Thats why all the stuff has tags because it was literally just created by the government to remove suspicion from people who entered. Like imagine saying you lived in the city for years but yet you have no furniture lol. Anyways thats just a detail you didn’t add in that i thought was pretty clever

3:27:50 The weird anticlimactic death of Ryder, was actually due to a fallout between R* and the voice actor (rapper) MC Eiht, before finishing up his dialog. So they had to make up a new way for him to die while using whatever lines they had already got. They have since made up, and MC Eiht has been in both GTA V as himself as a radio guest.
