Great video, I am from Budapest. I have to tell this video describes well the city. Well Done! Some more tips: - Sunset on the Freedom bridge - you can sit down on the bridge, this is a great photo spot. - Pictures from Margit Hid (Margarithe Bridge). - Freedom Square and around with the US embassy, great place to chill and walk around. - Walk around the Gellert hill side (not facing Danube) beautiful architecture. Swedish embassy is there, lot of historic buildings, old schools, churches, Philosophers garden etc. - Central Market hall for food. Also the Architecture is great. - Normafa for walking in the nature, and lookout tower over Buda. - Buda, which is just so much more calm than Pest side. There are some spectacular residential areas from the 1800s. Not so many bars and restaurants, but generally is good to get lost there. My favorite location is north/north-west of Mechwart Liget. Other Coffee places: - Kelet (Buda) near Gardonyi Ter (Personal favorite, great place to work or read) - Kontakt - Fekete - My little Melbourne - The Goat Herder - New York cafe (Super Fancy and very expensive, but worth to try)

This makes me wish I was in Budapest again, I went last October and stayed in an Air BnB on Dob Utca near the smaller Napfenyes! I had the best time there, didn't get to any bars though! But can also testify for a food place near Oktogon called Menza, food was great, service was good, and the alcohol was super cheap

One of my favorite restaurants is the Harapó Mókus over in Óbuda. It’s a bit out of the way, but you can easily get there by trams 1, 17 ,19 and 41. It is not in a cosy environment (in a small shopping centre between large blocks of flats, they have a nice terrace though) but they serve the best food ever, for the lowest price ever ... The place is packed with locals (they know where to go ...) and the staff is just adorable. I don’t know how it is now, but last time I was there, there was no menu in English, German or whatever, only in Hungarian. So I spent nearly an hour translating the menu to my friends ... but you can look it up on the website and prepare in advance 👍 (On the website the menu is still only in Hungarian). But there are good restaurants everywhere, the old Jewish quarter or just go out of the touristy areas a bit ...

First time in Budapest I stayed right next to Jászai Mari station. It was easy to get around both Buda and Pest. This last time, though, I stayed around the corner from Szimpla Kert. Definitely recommend that area. More places are open later. Lots of options in terms of getting around. And two of my favorite places are a block away. Drum Cafe and Getto Gulyas. 😍😍 on the Buda side, theres a little place called Marxim. I like their pizza. Was sad to learn my favorite Langos place closed those. Tomi langos has the best langos but they’re permanently closed now. So if anyone has a good langos recommendation, please send it my way.

Hi! I just wanted to say that when me and my friend was in Budapest last week, we got informed that if you are from a EU-country, you can take the busses for free? We just had to show our ID on the bus. But im not sure if we were just lucky not getting caught, or if its free. We were also so shocked by the bad attitude from the people working at stores, restaurants and bars. They looked like they hated their jobs and were rude... I dont know if it was just us, or if its common in budapest. Other than that, the ruin bars, street food, castles, everything was so nice. We had such a nice time there.

I'm pretty sure you were just lucky, I have not heard about this or could find anything. But practically it is free for everyone since I have never seen a single ticket inspector on a BKK bus in my 22 years here, if I don't count the first door driver inspection lines.

Hi PsychoTravelier, awesome video, very helpful and quite informative. Your expertise in accommodations, is definitely needed right now. There is another, traveler KZitemr Steve Ronin like yourself in Hungary going to Budapest. A lot of places are either booked or quite pricey. Where can a person find cheap accommodations in Hungary for a night or two? Maybe rent a room, from a villiager, if possible. Thank you, and God Bless.🕊

Gellert Hill's G is pronounced like in "Gas" not as in "Jelly" ;-) My fave restaurant is in the 5th district and called Tulipan Bistro at Nador utca. Prices are decent, so depends where you go, it needn't be too expensive. For coffee and cakes I can recommend "Jég Büfé at Ferenciek Tere, the cake selection is fab, I always go there when on hols in BP.
