Tip: look into Synergy. Instead of a singular monitor set up like you do, I have multiple monitors. With Synergy, it allows you to control your computers with one mouse & keyboard. It's been part of my workflow for years since I use both Mac & PC. It allows me to use both machines equally. Example: Display 1 + 2 = PC. Display 3 = Mac. Synergy can be set up so that you can use all 3 monitors & when you move your mouse off the screen, it appears at that same location on the other machine.

Awesome video, One suggestion though, Using the LOGITECH FLOW can help you to use the same mouse and keyboard on both devices seamlessly without clicking the button underneath. Simply hover to the edge of the display and you are done. The best part is that once you hover your mouse to another screen keyboard sync at the same time without any need to press the button. Make sure both supports LOGITECH FLOW. :D

Cannot agree more on the chair. Got an embody last year and while I get some quizzical looks when I say I bought it new, it was the best purchase for my setup. That chair and a 12 year warranty will far outlast the crappy "gaming" chairs that dont last, plus I also had the same experience with my back. I run two computers side-by-side too, wish I can afford that display monitor though. Great setup. I think you can connect your Macbook on the front Aux-In of your speakers, in that way, you don't lose signal. The Y-cable works, but might not be the best solution for that. I run both my audio through a multitrack interface, then out to my monitors. Maybe your Scarlette can do the same. But yeah, the simplest solution is the better solution for the most part.

Hi @allenalesna, is this also applicable to Mic Inputs? I would like to use my streaming Mic for two different worlds (Mac and Windows) would that be possible? If so, what would you recommend?
@AL.N-music
Жыл бұрын
Hi@@jemgatus3547, you can do that for the mic inputs sure. But I would tread carefully on that. Mic inputs are typically 'pre-amped' so I'd recommend that you lower that input gain on the input. However, this input is usually mono, so one of your machines won't get a full stereo signal out to the speakers. If you could, I'ld recommend getting a small mixer with at least four tracks. In that way, you have the L/R outputs setup properly. Usually, those mixers have a stereo aux, and sometimes two auxes. But if you'd ask me how I would do it, I'd buy the Zoom L8 or PodTrak4, run it as an audio interface on the PC, with the audio out of both machines going into the interface hardware. Then running a DAW that would control both audio for the computers. And if I don't use the main PC (where the DAW is running), then I'd use the interface hardware on standalone recorder mode. It's kinda a lot, but see my main PC is always running than my laptop. And I always run my DAW so if I wanna take a break from work, I can just turn on my softkeys and play the piano, or grab my guitar and turn on the track that has a virtual amp in it. I'm running Reaper or Reason by the way. Depends on what floats my boat on any given day. For your streaming mic, you'd really have to connect/disconnect from one machine to another. A USB switcher would be a solution for that. I use that as well for my mouse and keyboard. As well as my Jabra headset for calls. Lastly, depending on which one is your main machine, you'd always want most of your periferals there. However, I do notice that your Windows is a desktop setup, so maybe you'd rather have the periferals there. You might just have to try the different setups and see what's most convenient. Running two machines at the same time is not a common thing, so solutions for such are always gonna be uniquely dependent from one user to another. P.S. I literally had to draw several times, the layout of the connections, and nerd it all up just to get it right in one go. And a lot of mind mapping and scenario simulations in my head. And yes, it helped to avoid changing setups, especially cabling.

Plus if you wanted you could probably pay up for a single GPU then utilize it between both your Mac and PC unless you utilize both at the same time.

Ive owned 500-1000 Kef speakers and these are beter.. and they have so many different mounting options.. seriously do yourself a favore and check them out.. pretty much every audiofile online has them at their desk.. they are beautifull.. so clean.. the sound stand is second to none.. they come from a very small company therefore the attention to detail is incredible.. its insane the levels of bass you get out of them without a sub.. and they have every hookup, bluetooth and more... I just want people to buy them so they dont go out of buisness.. or just buy the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 or their newer model with a classic 70s look and a bigger sub.. but the vanatoos blow them away for 300 dollars.. and the klipsch blow everything away for 150.. sometimes 99 dollars on sale.. there is a reason they havent changed them since the late 90s.. they are incredible.

He did point out that it's not wise to skimp on the items, in this case, his chair that supports your most important asset, your body. I think he should have invested more, if he could afford it, in his desk as given what he has, he's going to end up buying something else when he would have been better off buying something decent that would last. Considering that, he broke his first rule given he bought a sit-stand desk to support his body and yet bought a minimum cost cheap, wobbly desk. As my Mum would tell me as I was growing up "You buy cheap, you buy twice"
