The point of the Crest finally getting destroyed, as he previously managed to always reassemble it despite the universe trying its best, made his decision to change absolute. He had decided to leave his identity as a low life bounty hunter and rejected Mandalorian who tried everything to fit in in a culture that doesn't want him, and went after Grogu, who instantly accepted him, alongside his mismatched band of friends. He had no qualms removing his helmet to show his love to his child. The problem was that Disney had to retcon this completed character arc and reset it back to where it started. His entire growth and epiphany about life was thrown out in favour of keeping the popularity as-is instead of seeing if a changed Mando would still be liked by the audience. Same goes for Grogu who had a small arc and then reset back to baby noises and memes

Ya it's a shame they fumbled the story after the ship got destroyed. I would have enjoyed seeing proper story progression after its destruction as it would have been impactful because of what the Crest stood for. But since Disney essentially reset Mando and Grogu it feels like a misstep, or just a marketing ploy to sell N1 ship toys. I am all for meaningful deaths and destruction of good things if it means good, plot-driven storytelling. Luthen Rael is one of my favorite characters and he is marked for death, I can't wait to see what good story-writers do with that kind of death.

@@BAUFmanBricks I honestly couldn't get into the Andor show. I loved Andor in Rogue, but the show was absolutely not for me. It lacked every spice and staple that makes Star Wars Star Wars. Felt like a random vegan burger in a McDonald's wrapper It was executed and acted all right, but had no pacing and was just plain boring and not Star Wars. Even had the wrong props with the wrong factions, rebel blasters on imperials..

@@BAUFmanBricks But why exactly? It's just Better Call Saul in a SW wrapper. Pointless and over long plots that are basically just filler. I don't like the animation style of the "kids shows", but Tales of the Jedi added a whole new facette and an opera of emotions without going full memory lane with their 10 minute episodes. There is so much more in those than in the 4 hour episodes of Andor. I do agree with Skarsgard being an interesting character, just as Mon Mothma, although all their plots were boring and contradictory. The only redeeming bit was the ISB scenes. But it just didn't bring the balance. And Andor is so far from the OT and Lucasian story telling and style that I really don't see the appeal to OT fans. This was a show for BCS fans who hate sci fi

My only criticism is that it could use more Dark Blue Grey. Yes it's more accurate, but the darker greys help create texture and contrast, making the model feel more appealing to look at. @BAUFmanBricks
4 ай бұрын
I didn’t like the dark gray on the official set because it was too splotchy. I think it’s the extra shiny-ness of the ship on screen that makes you feel that way. Different lighting gives it a lot of contrast which the Lego tiles can’t fully display.
@indmur
Ай бұрын
Nah this looks cleaner. When making models don't add details for the sake of details. Imagine if someone was making an airplane model and decided to add light gray for "texture" when in real life airplanes are usually just clean white. It doesn't look good.

@@BAUFmanBricksVery kind of you to permit me my opinion. I’m sorry if I’m not showering you with praise, but your stuff is on par with most of the other improvements I’ve seen to the Razor Crest that others on Rebrickable have done. You just happen to be pitching it as “the ultimate”. Saying it doesn’t make it so. You strike me as someone who perhaps works in sales. If you can’t see how arrogant it is to claim one’s own work as “the best” I’m already screaming into a void - and don’t call it confidence. Your work is good. The best? No, of course not. I’m glad we share an appreciation for Edge of Bricks’ work. We also share an appreciation of a smaller scale, which is how I stumbled across your stuff. I’ll keep watching. I like your content (when the overstatement is dialled back) and design philosophy, I hate how you market your work. Some truth in advertising and humility goes a long way.

In each video I layout why I think each build is the best in my opinion and I explain each design choice. You are just slinging insults and criticism without providing constructive critique. Here’s an example of something you could have said: “I think Edge of Bricks’ cockpit ridges are more accurate with their displayed angle”. I wouldn’t refute this as it is objectively true, whereas I had to make mine more brickbuilt to make it accommodate a larger cockpit and more passengers. But you cannot deny my retractable landing gear is unmatched. My 3 person cockpit is perhaps the best at this size. The engine size and overall proportions of the ship are most accurate in this playscale. Those were large focusses of this build and other compromises had to be made to accommodate what I view as best features, and you don’t have to agree because it’s subjective design choices. I have never worked sales and you’re just name calling. I’m fine with design criticism, as that’s actually in my profession. But you aren’t providing specific examples of why you disagree with my assertion that mine is the best. If you keep being negative and insulting me rather than my builds and I’ll delete and ignore your comments. I’m cool with critique and plenty of people have left good, constructive criticism that leads to respectful discussion.
@BAUFmanBricks

I forgot to mention, I view Edge of Bricks’ Crest as too small, especially the engines. The interior has great details, but it is very blocked off. Having correct corridors is an important design choice for me and the Crest is very opened up inside. This is how to critique. I don’t like to make critiques of other builders on my channel and I’ll never discuss it in a video, but this is how you have a good convo on design critique.
@J3TF1RE

I’ve been quite clear that my issue is you calling these builds “the best” or “ultimate” and how the self describing of one’s own work in such terms reflects on you as a person. If you found that insulting, well, I’m sorry you feel that way. It comes across either as an old as dirt sales technique or hubris. Neither are particularly palatable. I’m not name calling, that’s how it comes across. You could be the loveliest person in the world for all I know. I don’t want to get into a protracted back and forth, I’ve offered my opinion and you’ve been gracious enough to discuss things. Best of luck with your projects.
