this is very informative. I love how frank you were with your choices. That's what I need as I am researching, instead of "it really depends ..."

Another great video. I'm just getting started with podcasting and finding your videos very helpful. It would be great if you could do a video on Ferrite and the templates and any other tips and tricks.

Hey Stephen, great video. I record a sports video podcast on this YT channel. Just purchased the Earthworks Ethos to upgrade from my current USB Yeti Mic. Looking for a basic afforable audio interface to use it that sounds good. I've only recorded with USB directly to my computer. Any recommendations?

Thanks! I really like the Motu interfaces: www.amazon.com/dp/B087QL8SLN/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_ZP6H9RTHEPNGPGWT2TMB?linkCode=ml2&tag=beardedteac07-20

Do you find the ethos picks up a lot of background noise in environments that aren’t sound treated? You should great, I’m just wondering if most others would benefit from a dynamic microphone

I found it to be pretty adept and rejecting room noise and reverb. If background noise is your biggest factor, a dynamic mic like the MV7 or SM7B would do slightly better.

This was a great video! Question: at 1:45 you show your audio interface and it looks like you have a 3.5mm cable plugged into the stereo out port on the MixPre. Are you feeding this into your camera or back to the Mac? I use my MixPre as an interface with AH but I'm not using it in this configuration. Thanks, Stephen!

Thanks man! And good question. I actually do audio out of the MixPre into my BlackMagic ATEM Mini Pro, so if I ever want to live stream I have audio from my mic, Mac, and I’ll plug my iPad into the 1/8” line-in on the MixPre so viewers can hear that as well.

Appreciate that! Podcasts is a combination of sponsors and patreon supporters. Videos I’ve had a couple sponsors, and close to Adsense monetization too!

If you have a MixPre, there's no apparent reason to be using Audio Hijack.

There's a number of reasons to still use Audio Hijack, one for redundancy, recording multiple formats, etc.
