Ooh, I like this one very much! The tubeless tire wheels, and the beefed up suspension are excellent upgrades. That new seat looks very comfortable, as well. I would just add Double Take mirrors, and handlebar mounts for GPS & iPhone, with USB power ports.

Yup. Or one 1250GS or 2.5 Ovalandas 😁. The benefit is that you can probably get parts everywhere, and if you can get by with the power, it’s taking a basic, but sound bike, and putting on the fancy bits that you’d get with other bikes. For a proper overland adventure, I think they are great!

Depends what you have, particularly regarding wheels and luggage, but I guess £2-4K. (I think wheels are £1000-£1500 depending on options, luggage £500-1000 and then what seat, bars, bash guard, lighting etc. you choose.)

I am looking at givi bags for mine, But why are your mounts so far out from the bike?
@PeakMotorcycles
2 жыл бұрын
Not my bike or mounts, so a question for them really. My guess is the exhaust on one side, and allowing enough room for the swingarm on the other to come up without hitting it.

Do you think they could put the clocks and headlight from the Scram 411 on there instead? (I hate the clocks of the current Himalayan)
@PeakMotorcycles

Not sure. I think the fairings are quite different. That said, anything is possible. Clocks might be more tricky. A RE garage might be able to advise?

That's an amazing bike. I was wondering, would you recommend upgrading the stock ECU to get rid of some of the innate Himalayan gremlins and smoothen power delivery? I would love to turn my machine into something similar to that one, it's a great inspiration.
@PeakMotorcycles
2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have one (yet 🤣) but I understand there’s a few options. There’s a ‘fuel plug’ for bikes with Euro4 engines. Not sure about Euro5. There’s also the option to replace the camshaft with one of these: www.tecbikeparts.com/product/tec-performance-camshaft-royal-enfield-himalayan-410cc/ That seems to be the better option. The other things like the wheels are a change out, so I suppose it’s whether it’s worth spending £1000+ on some new, lightweight, tubeless wheels on a £4500 bike. If you do, the 18” at the back opens up a lot more off-road tyre choices.

@@PeakMotorcycles That camshaft looks amazing, I've been investigating about it since you mentioned it and it looks the best option by far. Thanks for the suggestion.

@@IPSRayTreadawayDotCom unfortunately not, but my guess would be a bit more than the current Himalayan? Prices vary a lot from country to country too. I know a UK/European Royal Enfield is about twice the price of the same bike in India. (The UK bikes do tend to have a higher spec though with ABS, EU5 engines, etc. )

@PeakMotorcycles
2 жыл бұрын
This one doesn’t have the INT650 motor. It’s the 411 that comes with the bike. Though I think the 650 engine is great in the interceptor, the extra weight it would add to this, plus the technical challenges (The interlayan they have done is a 650 frame and engine), probably doesn’t make it a practical upgrade. I don’t think you’d even fit it into a Himalayan frame.

Indeed, some people choose the T7, some people choose this. I guess the modified Himalayan has tubeless tyres and better suspension and also includes luggage. To bring the T7 to the same spec, would push the cost higher. I guess it’s whatever people want.
