Ooohhhhh - brought back memories. I always treated our EMT plates as a good starting point. But then we played with both the input and output. That was so much fun.

Interesting, would be interesting to hear your thoughts on SoundToys SuperPlate (I'm using Cubase stock plugins mostely, but maybe I'll find smth that I like so much so I would justify a purchase)

Dom what's the difference between the modes menù (classic clear vintage) and the settings in the "FX" panel (gritty clean vintage) ?? 🤔 looks like somewhat duplicate features...

I wonder how close a cubase stock plate sounds compared to this ? I am newish to cubase and trying to use more of the included plug ins these days but I do need a good plate after moving away from UAD :)

Very nice but I’m tired of buying plugins. What’s closest to it in Cubase? Or a free one. I have the little plates reverb and it’s great!

@@fcmas I'm just dealing with it mate there's nothing I can do. There's still some great mixes with algorithmic halls and I like listening to them again and again! For me plates are for vocals that are not meant to be "reverbed" and you just reverb them to sound natural. That makes sense. I just love large halls with huge predelays and decay times. (And these don't always work with all genres, but in that case I'd rather decrease the times or maybe use a room, I just don't like plates 😶)

@@LeChapeauMusic you like what you like, but the industry and its listeners clearly don't share the same resentment. I'm not knocking your opinion, just pointing out how vastly opposite it is to norm music practice.
