Jeurey, you’ve done a fantastic job. However, there were some errors in the writings you refrenced. The religion is not ‘Yoruba. Yoruba is a tribe in the southwestern part of Nigerian. They practice a number of faiths. A lot of the wear white. I suspect his was the worship of Ifa. What I would say is that just like every faith, there are a lot of wolves in sheep clothing. Even in Nigeria it is difficult to find a true practitioner. I would not advise anyone who wasn’t born in the culture to practice it. There is just so much you don’t understand and things you open yourself to. A star dimmed to soon. May he rest in peace.

I knew someone was going to say this. There IS an actual Yoruba religion aside from Yoruba culture and THAT is what Lee dabbled in. I did a whole slide breaking down the differences between the two but for some reason the ads wouldn’t run with it included in the video. 🤷🏾♂️ But yes I’m aware that the Yoruba people themselves practice a wide range of religions. There’s been debates online for years about it. And I agree that between IFA divination and Santeria, it’s some heavy stuff to jump into if you don’t know what you’re doing. I truly believe he was seeking enlightenment and had the best of intentions for what it’s worth.

@@thomasmcintosh2977I understand that's your take, however, as a young black boy myself, the first thing I did notice was his skin color, and to deny it is just as damaging! In a landscape where young white children are at the forefront of the entertainment industry, representation is everything!

@@Ty-nf5gd I watched it as an adult because I was interested in what our Black children were being given to watch and was pleasantly surprised by Jett Jackson. Not only was he a smart, cute, young man ... he was cast as the hero and his friends looked up to him. Also his mother, father and grandma were strong Black characters with pro Black sensitivities. During that time, Jett Jackson was a pleasant anomaly. I looked forward to seeing him as a strong lead in future roles, but then I saw him playing a side kick to two white women and was sad that he couldn't be a bigger star on his own, and I am sure he felt the same way about his career. Disney being the devilish entity that is has always been, (remember Antoinette Funicello) and racist, yes I said it, cannot be dismissed as culpable in this brilliant man's demise.

High functioning mental illness needs to be talked about more. People suffering with it seem "ok" but they are only masking. You have to ask direct uncomfortable questions of them. I do wonder how his time as a child actor was and also how he dealt with how he was treated in Hollywood as a Blck man. He may have also been a Highly Sensitive Person, this is a tough plane of existence. I hate the demonization of Afrcan Traditional Relgions, it's shameful especially when it comes from Blck people.

We're super close in age and from the first time i saw him in Jett Jackson i was absolutely taken with him. To me he was just breathtakingly beautiful. A gifted actor too. Loved him on Smallville. I was absolutely over the moon when i saw him join my all time favorite show, Scrubs. When i heard about his untimely passing i was crushed. I struggle with depression and some of those same issues. My heart still breaks for him. Rest well, Lee. Often the brightest lights burn out too quickly.

@@geraldj3623If you're skeptical about troubled child actors who mention being abused in heinous ways, then that's on you. I doubt if all of them are lying! You can watch documentaries and look at interviews and decide for yourself!

You did a phenomenal job with this video. I learned more details here than any other video I’ve seen about Lee.
