The problem is with a FORCED adaption of EV's and the fact that NONE of the technological or infrastructures associated with these vehicles is anywhere near mature enough to support their practical use on the mass scale being attempted here. This is a slow motion disaster playing out here, and the end result will be a general public that will absolutely reject forward thinking technology once enough of them have been burned (no pun intended) by the current crop of EV's being dishonestly represented to them. Once a large enough percentage of "early adapters"......relatively wealthy novelty seekers have experienced the enormous repair costs, the limited ability to have these cars serviced, traffic jams caused by people without money, pushing their degrading batteries to the absolute limit, very high insurance premiums, cars bricking themselves for either no or nonsensical reasons...and unfortunately stories of entire families being incinerated while just going about their daily lives, the tide will turn hard AGAINST these things, big time. I'm not speculating here, these are all hard truths associated with the current technology being used in these cars. The people lying about the issues these cars have, and the ones keeping their heads in the sand, are the worst enemy the EV movement could possibly have. It's almost like a death cult is calling the shots for them. Recognizing limitations and slow, steady evolution is the way forward...not the clusterfuck currently playing out. Remove all the tax breaks, subsidy on cars, subsidy on charging, grants, company tax advantages, 0% finance, leave it to the market to decide and no one would ever buy one of these hideous turds!

When a base model new car cost $1000 a month with insurance, people are holding onto their old cars. My problem with "newer cars" is all the junk they put on them..I do not need tire pressure montiter systems, blue tooth, touch screens, GPS, back up cameras, and such..Just sell me a car with working lights, a drivetrain and seatbelts...Hell, I do not even want/need AC....just something to get from A too B.

The return of the plugged in hybrid PHEV with modern battery and optimised system working in better synergy is logical: why carrying 1000 lbs of batteries to go 10 miles to the supermarket to buy 20 lbs of groceries while a small 50 miles battery for a lighter car can do the job better and the Atkinson Otto thermal engine and 12 gallons fuel tank but no gear box is much lighter than heavy battery for 250 miles…the PHEV is so more efficent than similar BEV’s , can run full electric mode within urban areas, is easy to recharge with an appliance plug and does not struggle with poor autonomy or charger unavailability, with for the planet only 1/6 of the lithium of a BEV required..Meanwhile beyond those 50 miles. it is still good third more fuel efficient than a similar conventional thermal car with deceleration and downhill energy recovery, so it became the best of both world and so, no wonder Mazda Honda BYD MG GM all try to imitate Toyota planning on 42% more hybrid sold 2024 than 2023 and while prices are high and not dropping like EV, much less depreciation can be anticipated. Moreover used EV can be impossible to resell, trade in are being refused etc..

Have you ever heard of the major rules doctrine or the non delegation doctrine? Those rules set by the house says that they are not.allowed to let 3 letter alphabet agencies given themselves and create laws and rules enforceable by law which is exactly what they are doing. Most individual cases faught against the ATF, EPA etc are won by the defendant when they see it through. However the alphabet agencies see more wins because defenders normally agree to a plee deal. Stop letting the agencies control us that nobody voted for or agreed to. Stand up!
