In the early hours of 18th March, 1929, thick fog surrounded the Goodwin Sands. The Gull light vessel was dutifully sounding her fog horn and two men were keeping watch. When out of the swirling fog came the 7,844 ton passenger liner City of York. This is the story of the tragedy of that night and fate of the LV 38.
