When Donovan taught John and George " Travis picking " in India, Paul didn't care about learning it. He continued playing with his thumb and other 4 fingers strumming the way he always did. He still plays that way today. " Blackbird" was a brilliant exception. Although he never has read music, his chord structures are complex and unique. Thank you for uploading this. Great job.

It’s hard for musicians of today, to understand the incredible impact the Beatles had on music, thought and society. Their ability to absorb and reimagine what they were learning, as they were exposed to different styles of music, is unparalleled. The fact that they were technically brilliant musicians, singers and harmony singers and musical arrangers, as well as great songwriters, is what really set them apart. They also appealed to a broad spectrum of people. So glad I was there to experience it.

In a sense Paul's technique here is a variation of the "Carter Scratch" where Maybelle Carter would play melody along with a strum on the treble strings. She invariably played the melody in the bass of course. I am not suggesting this was his inspiration - probably Donovan was the immediate influence.

You may struggle to get the exact sound even on the exact same guitar. Pauls was a right handed guitar flipped over because hes a lefty, but the nut and saddle were not swapped out. So the strings would not be seated correctly in either, which will alter the sound, cause rattle and effect intonation.
