Hi Jo, I wonder if I got the lines correct? I'd like to use this for my class if it's okay. Your rendition is just so haunting. Much love and many thanks. Cold blows the wind on my true love and gently drops the rain I‘ve never had but one true love and in Greenwood he lies slain I'll do so much for my true love as any young girl may I'll sit and mourn on your grave for twelve months and a day. The twelve months and a day were up and the ghost began to speak: "Why sit you here and mourn for me and you will not let me sleep? What do you want of me sweetheart, or what is it you crave?” For just one kiss from your lily-white lips and that is all I crave. “My breast it is as cold as clay sweetheart, my breath it is earthy strong, And if you were to kiss my lily-white lips your days would not be long Don’t long for me my dearest dear, don’t mourn for me I pray For I must leave you and all the world, and turn into my grave”. Oh when will we meet again sweetheart, Oh when will we meet again? When the autumn leaves will fall from the trees are green and spring up again.

I am a recent subscriber to West Country Clegs channel. I heard you on his video. I am an old farm boy from Oklahoma but I love old Folk music. I wasn't familiar enough with it to know any names to Google. I have subscribed to your channel and you are extremely talented. I love everything on your channel but this one is my favorite. Thank you for bringing the gift of music to this needy world.

“The wind doth blow today, my love, And a few small drops of rain; I never had but one true-love, In cold grave she was lain. “I’ll do as much for my true-love As any young man may; I’ll sit and mourn all at her grave For a twelvemonth and a day.” The twelvemonth and a day being up, The dead began to speak: “Oh who sits weeping on my grave, And will not let me sleep?” “’T is I, my love, sits on your grave, And will not let you sleep; For I crave one kiss of your clay-cold lips, And that is all I seek.” “You crave one kiss of my clay-cold lips, But my breath smells earthy strong; If you have one kiss of my clay-cold lips, Your time will not be long. “’T is down in yonder garden green, Love, where we used to walk, The finest flower that e’re was seen Is withered to a stalk. “The stalk is withered dry, my love, So will our hearts decay; So make yourself content, my love, Till God calls you away.”

I love your music, I would love to see more videos, or even purchase a cd, I live in the US. You have great talent, I played this for a friend and she cried like I did the first time I heard it. You have a gift of singing from the depths of your soul, and It is a rare gift to be able to move the listeners soul as well. I realize the 2 songs on your channel are old, but you have the ability to reach people. God Bless.
