I never attended Warped in those years, but i think it got a lot better. I was always just a merch guy or hangaround for bands on the tour (2010-2013ish), and it really wasnt that bad most of the time, atleast in my bubble and the bands I hungout with, the parties on the busses got pretty questionable. As far as the management of the tour, logisticaly/business-wise etc... went pretty well. It was always some band and/or members of a band causing issues and making the whole program look bad.. sometimes it was even some of the vendors or tour sponser booths. I remember Truth had some sketchy shit happen. An accurate summation would be that many warped bands, more specifically the in post hardcore scene really do have a proven history of allegations (convicted or not. mostly not) of sexual conduct w/ minors. Loving this series and the video! Will add something in regards to the whole Alternative Press and defamation issue (I'm just completing a degree in Journalism hence why I know this). Even if the words 'alleged' and 'suspected' are used, it can still be defamatory. It does not matter if the claim is true or not either, all the claimant must prove is Defamation, Identification and Publication - also known as DIP. If its defamatory i.e. harms the persons reputation, like this article would, and can easily be identified as a specific person then they can be sued for defamation. There are defences of course - the information being in the public interest or being provably true being the main two, and honest opinion (which only applies to reviews). However, sometimes the editor will straight up deny an article being published for fear of being sued no matter if they have a defence or not. I rarely agree with dropping an article as important as this one, and I don't fully agree with this my morals battle each other whenever I explain something like this - however as a journalist I do sympathise with those who were up against Austin. This is the UK law, but I imagine US law is similar. Hope this helped a little :) Keep it up though really enjoying this content.

They don’t get paid or get positive feedback for speaking out the accusers may came out about their experiences later on because it’s not easy for SA survivors to come out about their experiences, because of the emotional damage it has done to them or they realize that they were assaulted after the encounter they should be given a chance to see whether or not it’s true Austin prevents that from happening. If he faced the allegations the accusers will leave him alone .

@@lesliecartagena1292 my reply wasn't at all me defending Austin against the allegation, that's not even something i'm taking a stand on because i don't feel its right to do so. The only thing i was defending him on is his reaction to the AP article, and how his reaction doesn't assume guilt in the slightest. Like if hypothetically he truly was innocent i don't think his response to that situation would change either way.

Literally the reason why ( even though I was 8 I was aware of the scene era not to mention rock bands but for some reason I wasn’t interested, I think I dodged a bullet) I never really stepped into the rock scene for some reason, I always got a bad vibe whenever I saw grown ass men hanging out with underage girls, I never really understood why, I remember vividly my cousin ( who was 16-17 at the time) showed me interview or songs and I asked her “ why are kids my age alone with guys who are older” and she just said “ their parents are there with them” knowing damn well in my gut that was bullshit, I forever will never know why managers of bands thought it was a good idea to have underage fans hang out with people two time’s their age

When there’s like 20+ women accusing one man of something it’s the def the type of situation where either the guy 100% did it or that’s just SO many woman it became trendy to be a “victim” of his… seeing the way he is now I personally feel like it was def a trend to wanna “be his victim” but that also isn’t to say maybe it stemmed from one maybe two girls who weren’t necessarily r***d but might’ve looked back at the situation and thought “hm these weren’t the best circumstances”…
@thecreatedvoid117

Yeah my thoughts exactly. And I hate to say it, as someone who has experienced SA multiple times myself.... but there are a lot of cases of women (or men) not being truthful when making these accusations. Especially when you take into consideration that these allegations came out *after* AA made statements alluding to it. We'll probably never get anything conclusive regarding it one way or another. Shitty either way you look at it - either dozens of women aren't getting justice that they deserve or someone's getting accused of things they didn't do. Lose/lose.
@Lettheflamesbeginx3

Not everyone knew about the AA post. I knew that they hated him, I knew about the AC-130 song, I didn't know why they hated him. since when is it trendy to lie about being violated? in the VERY rare cased people lie about this, they are mentally ill and put on revenge. y'all need to fucking wake up an realizr what awful world we live in. i thought i was 'lucky' i did not experience sa until i grew up and years later i actually realized it happened right in my own relationship i was worshiping. sa is real and unfortunately almost everywhere and YOU need to do better and believe the victims.
@thecreatedvoid117
Жыл бұрын
@@h3avenscent Sorry, I replied last week but must have been flagged for a link I put in there. So the most common percentage put out there is anywhere between 4-10%. That doesn't look big when looking at the whole picture but that is A LOT innocent people being falsely accused of something they didn't do. There are additional cases of DA's and people in law enforcement stating that within their district, it was upwards of 40%. The main reasons people falsely accuse is, including what you said but also, mental illness, revenge, vindictiveness, attention seeking, regret, etc. Then you also have unintentional reasons like false memories. I'm not sitting here saying the accusations are true or false. I think everyone needs to use their own discernment when researching all the information out there. Personally, I will never sit and point the finger and say "yup - definitely guilty" unless proven guilty because that's dangerous territory too. Will I sit and think to myself "yeah, that's probably true"? Absolutely. But false allegations can ruin the lives of those accused and their loved ones. I am a huge advocate for justice for victims. I think SA is just about the worst crime to exist. It doesn't get any more evil than harming the innocent. But if there are really that many people who are degenerate enough to stoop to SA'ing someone, you can't put it past others to lie. Everyone lies, just to what extent. Evils can exist on both sides of this topic. There is a reason societally we stand by innocent until proven guilty. I would also like to add that I started this by saying I've experienced SA a couple of times in my life. I do not expect the world to believe me; I failed myself and maybe even others by not going after those who hurt me when I was younger because I felt like it was my fault. But I won't sit here and *expect* everyone to believe I'm being truthful just because I said it happened. That's the hard reality of things. We need to get better, as humans, to teach those who are young what SA is and feel confident in telling those they can and trust, so the evil people performing these acts can be dealt with. I know we disagree here but I wish you nothing but the best.

This story is extremely hard to figure out what truly took place. It seems like something is their, but nothing ever really came out. I know that this isn't the main subject but I am kind of suprised you didn't bring up the Landon Tewers beef. I don't personally know how Landon feels about this subject today, but that tiff got really volatile. The Plot In You made a song called "Digging Your Grave" that was directed towards Austin and it stems from the animosity Landon had towards seeing Austin's abuse first hand. Edit: great vid. The All time low allegations would be an interesting one to talk about. Because on one hand apparently there are MULTIPLE allegations against the guitarist Jack and just a lot of weird videos of the band resurfacing like them having crowds of mostly underage girls throw there bras at them and they would literally keep them and hang them on there bus. Plus a lot of women have stories of the band (mostly Jack) being really wired and coming off as creepy towards them when meeting them. But on the other hand the band have treated the allegations very seriously denying them almost immediately and even going so far as to suing some of the accusers

They can deny it all they want, but videos, pictures, the internet are forever. He signed a 14 year old girl's boob. There is picture and video evidence of the bra collection that they kept on their tour trailer. There's also the fact that when I was 15, Jack made a joke about masturbating, during their show, and I guarantee most of us were underage and he knew it.

When you think about the power dynamic between a young girl and the lead vocalist of a massive band then it's obvious that there would and could be an abuse of power aspect. I'm guessing that in the history of music there have been thousands of times where individuals would be coaxed into sexual favours by someone far more powerful and influential to the point where they feel like they couldn't say no. That's one way to look at it but it could also be simply that Austin is just a massive creep and forced himself on women. Both options are sad and awful
