Thomas Sowell is brilliant and a national treasure! I wish he would have gotten more involved in politics when he was younger. We need a leader like him that cuts through all of the BS and tells the truth!

I want to agree, yet I've learned that one leader can easily be suffocated or eliminated. Better he teach all who will listen, that those students may change their small worlds for good, and in so doing rescue society from the hands of 'leaders'.

Thomas Sowell 's gift to the World is his encouragement for people to think. Outside the box, when the contents of the box are all wrong . Opinions must be based on verifiable facts. A strong thinking public is a healthy public. I believe in power in the hands of people. Always keep in mind that people were gifted with ' Free Will ' Good enough for the creator and should be good enough for us.

If only Mr. Sowell were as influential to the black community as the rap and hip hop garbage that so many worship and emulate

Slavery has been ressurrected in the west. Modern slavery doesn't require the actual ownweship of people because with the advent of the high specialization of labor, labor is converted to money which is then stolen from the worker through taxation and is a very efficient way of siphoning off the fruits of people's labor. If anyone would like to verify this all one needs to do is look up a graph of the last 75 years that shows productivity and wages. productivity goes up at a 45 degree angle from left to right and wages follow along the same trajectory until about 1980 and then abruptly levels off while productivity continues to go up at a 45 degree angle

Brilliant, as usual. Brilliantly accurate, and precise. Dalrymple is must reading if you want to understand class in modern Britain.

Dr.Sowell, is Brilliant man by any standard. I've been reading his writings for many years. He is not a "Black Leader" he is not involved with the Black Community. He never speak well of the People that are trusted by B😢lack people. He has not put in the work, too bad. bad.

240 years of slavery was an horrible evil within itself especially for a country founded on the principles of freedom liberty and justice. The only reason why the so called race industry exists has resulted from the pernicious American apartheid system which denied black Americans their human dignity and civil rights for 100 years after slavery ended with the Emancipation Proclamation. I do not understand why Thomas Sowell refuses to acknowledge that some of the gains that many black Americans have made resulted from many sacrifices resulting from economic hardship and fatalities of many people of African descent fighting for their civil rights and human dignity. The gains that many black Americans have made did not occur because of the goodness of people’s hearts. These gains were made because of protests and demands that the government and society at large honor the principles of freedom liberty and justice. These victories that black Americans gained came at price of sacrifices of many both black and white individuals with their lives. There is still more work to be done. Racism still exists with many black Americans suffering as pawns. Dr Martin Luther King sacrificed his life fighting for the civil rights of black Americans. I am certain that Thomas Sowell would have been opposed to his policies and labeled a race hustler because he believed in affirmative action and equal justice and opportunity for all Americans!

I disagree, I believe Sowell has indicated that Martin Luther King was one of the only black leaders that he agreed with. It’s many others that came after him that manipulate the racial industrial complex to their benefit that got his disdain and mine.

@@redtobertshateshandles George Washington Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson as well as many others felt differently about the abuses of the British government and created the American Revolution. From this revolution the United States came into existence. However with regard to black Americans the principles which undergirded country were remiss. Life liberty with the pursuit of happiness was originally denied to people of African origin.

King supported equality, not reverse discrimination.

@@timchapman5567 There has been no evidence of reverse discrimination. People of African descent have suffered from racism from the first time their ancestors set foot on these shores. This country was supposedly founded on freedom liberty and justice. Dr King was a supporter of equality and justice. King also stated that America gave black Americans was given a check marked with insufficient funds. Dr King was also a supporter of affirmative action and equality. For black Americans that fight continues.
