The only problem I have with Buc-ee's is that if you're on a road trip and just want to make a quick stop, hit the bathroom, grab some drinks and fill up it takes way too long. Just dealing with the traffic and crowds eats up time that you don't lose at smaller places. On the other hand, we live near one and sometimes I just stop by to get a sandwich and shop a little if I'm not trying to get anywhere. They always have some interesting snacks and food.

Stories that I’ve heard from people that have worked there it actually isn’t as great as many think, starting with the fact that employees get only one 5 minute break during a shift or as they call it a “5 minute lunch” in which they can’t even sit or use their phone while on fucking break! On break! And not just that when employees clock out they have to wait until they leave the premises completely to use their phones and they prohibit tattoos and colored hair which surprises me considering that fact that they are a gas station convenience store and based on the type merchandise they sell and demographic they appeal to it surprises me they have these kind of rules and policies for employees which i think is outdated and stupid and from what I’ve heard they overall treat employees like shit, i even heard a story about them firing an employee for smoking in his car ON HIS DAY OFF! HIS DAY OFF!!!! You don’t even need to be on the clock or on shift to get fired for doing non work related things on your DAY OFF!!! If you drive to the premises and they use the $15/$17 or $18 the hour pay as an excuse to treat people in such way, funny how they pull the $15 excuse like they are the only place that pays that salary when there are a thousand other places that pay the same who have the same benefits idk why they think they are special or think they can fool people and worst of all they get away with breaking so many employment laws so i would do research and maybe look for videos made by former employees sharing their experiences and think it through before making a decision that could possibly leave one with Job PTSD. And I forgot to mention no break rooms either. They are a prison

I work for bucees, and although you are paid well, you arent taken care of, they don’t care if you are living in your car, if you’re sick, if you’re family is sick, they invest in bodies not people, we are made to work 6 to 7 days straight without overtime pay, we get a 20 minute break for our 8 hour shift, unsafe work conditions, I’ve had coworkers pass out and you’ll see the management put their hands in their pockets and walk away, they will fire you for being sick for to long, they don’t care about their employees they care about having employees. Buc-ees was a weird coincidence I stumbled upon at 2 a.m. on a long drive to Florida. While my mom was driving, I used gas buddies to locate the cheapest gas and it was 10-20 cents cheaper than everything around it. Because of previous adventures, we joked that it was probably some backwater mom and pop shop that only did cash. We kept our hopes low and approached cautiously. Did not expect to see a massive storefront surrounded by hundreds of pumps. Even at those dead hours, they had a relatively good flow of customers. It was amazing.

I stopped at the DB location in November and it was my first visit ever to a Buc-ee's. I noticed the cahier's name badge had night shift manager and I asked if he knew of any more stores planned for Florida besides Daytona and Saint Augustine. He said the plans aren't firm, but they're planning one for Ocala and Fort Lauderdale for 2023. I really wish they'd build one on I-4 between Tampa and Orlando.

I would love to see Bucky‘s create some truck stops but honestly you would have to hold drivers accountable with camera systems because you know the mess that some of them make and what you do as you hold the company that the driver works for hold responsible and don’t allow those companies there anymore I guess would be a way to approach it. Me as a handicap truck driver I’m not gonna park on the road and hop on my wheelchair and go across the parking lot trying to dodge cars and campers and not get run over. GA and Petros have three or four handicap truck parking spots each there are maybe four loves that have a couple spots but honestly loveS downfall is they let people park anywhere they want and people get blocked in all over the place flying Jay’s have gone straight downhill the last 15 years ever since pilot bought them all their facilities have deteriorated no upkeep no updates no nothing and now they finally want to start.

We had a bad experience at the Buc-Eee's in Baytown a couple years ago. I was traveling in my motor home around 1:00 AM. I was extremely tired and my driving was dangerous. I decided to stop there due to needing fuel and knowing it was a safe place to park and well lit. I filled up and pulled to an area far away from the pumps to sleep for a few hours. A short time later security knocked on my door and said I couldn't camp. I told him I was just wanting to sleep a little due to being so tired. He said I had to leave so I did and traveled a long hour to Beaumont and slept in Sam's parking lot with no problems. It's difficult to complain to Buc-Ee's and if and when they do it's with a rude condescending respons. They're so cheap they don't even have windshield cleaning squeegies. And do rude people just park in front of the pump and go inside for 30 minutes to shop?
