From 94-96 his pitch was great and his tone was also great, at the end of 96-2001 he developed a rasp which worked well for the band's sound, but you could tell his singing techniques were wearing his voice down. After that, it mostly went downhill... I don't think he was a horrible vocalist, but his self-taught techniques ultimately lead to the decline of his voice. I believe Noel left Oasis because of the abuse he dealt with from his alcoholic father as a child; only to face the same kind of abuse as an adult from his alcoholic brother. He had had enough. One thing about Noel, he is steadfast with turning around and avoiding unhealthy habits which could affect his creativity and mindset; which is why he single-handedly quit drug use cold without going to rehab or detox. He has done the same with his brother, ending a toxic relationship which was detrimental to his mental health, his family and his creativity. Liam finally stopped his abuse of alcohol; thereby stabilizing his personality and inner rage from his upbringing in an alcoholic household. Because of this, Noel may be able to work with him again in the future.
