What they do from here needs to revolve around wherever Jon's voice is. It's been said it would take a year or so to fix. And he's been quiet about that long. So hopefully there's some progress. With the voice back to reasonable levels ('08 to early '10's) then album and tour. With the voice anywhere near where it's been the last handful of tours, they need to just do a studio album. Either way, FOR SURE what needs to happen is: 1) There needs to be full involvement by Richie. 2) they can keep Phil but need to drop Shanks 3) any new material needs to be rock & roll. Socially conscious like up to '95 is fine, but not as serious as the 2020 album. More rock, less adult contemporary. 4) Any album/tour that is announced, if it is indeed a farewell, needs to be called "Never Say Goodbye".

I don't think Jon was OK with Richie talking about Jon's vocal problems. Several months after Richie talked about a reunion he walked back those comments and said there were currently no plans for a tour (said he had not heard anything from Jon) although he said he's be up for it. I think we can deduce that Jon was not happy with Richie's comments. It's important to remember that Jon was very unhappy with Richie due to the way Richie left the band in the middle of a tour years back. Hearing Richie bring up his vocal issues (when Jon hasn't said a thing) may have reopened some old wounds.

@OrlandoholidayExplorer I agree. But I think Jon has always held it against Richie. I remember an interview years ago where Jon questioned Richie's "choices" after the breakup. Still I think Jon would be willing to bury the hatchet and reunite if his voice was OK. I think that's the problem. Jon hasn't toured since that disastrous April 2022 mini tour. His voice was so bad I think it really scarred him. Jon is a proud man. He's not gonna go back out on tour if his voice is gone. At this point it's a waiting game. I think if and when Jon tours again it will be with Richie.

Great video mate. First things first. If Jon’s voice isn’t up to it it can’t or at least shouldn’t happen. Jon is a true professional and takes great pride in his work so I’m gonna guess that he’s taken this last year (since that last mini tour) to rest and work on his voice. I believe the covid factor has something to do with it also. If Jovi was gonna call it a day I believe there would have been an announcement so they gotta be looking to get the show on the road again. Right? I think so. So fingers crossed Jon can make a full recovery and they can make it happen as good as they want to. Bringing Richie back into the picture not alone gives more credence to a possible announcement but it gives Jon more options (Live shows etc) vocal wise etc. I gotta admit though, the longer it goes on the more concerned I get. I am expecting an announcement regarding a Tour for next year though. I hear what your saying about Jon’s voice. Up until covid I would have said it was a range issue. Now it’s that, but his breathing also. It genuinely looks like he’s getting it hard to muster the air in his lungs to enable him to sing the words etc. So yes, altering the key would definitely help but if he hasn’t properly recovered from covid it’s very hard to see him going out at all. I was one of those ‘Whitesnake’ fans that waited for DC and crew in Cartagena Spain 🇪🇸 last summer at the ‘Rock Imperium’ festival. Well he didn’t show and they couldn’t finish the tour. And nothing has been heard since, a whole year. And that was supposed to be The Farwell Tour. Not much of a Farewell eh? No one wants that to happen to Jon and Jovi. That would suck so bad. That’s why I think Jon is taking so long in doing this. The only I would like is for them to give the fans an update. Jovi have some of the most loyal and dedicated fans in the world and I think they deserve a little ‘Hey, this is what’s happening….’ Etc after all it’s been over a year of NOTHING. I for one would love to see them again. I got disinterested with what they were doing when they went in The Country direction. Last album I really enjoyed was ‘Have A Nice Day’ some great tunes on there. It’s been wayyy too long….. 🤞

You bring up Coverdale and I had tickets for the show in Charlotte with Sammy Hagar and Whitesnake and Night Ranger. I had seen Sammy and Night Ranger before both incredible. But Whitesnake is something different and I hate that I didn’t get to see them. The way that they were able to infuse layers into their music and how they perfectly married the blues with rock is a higher caliber than 99% of those 80s rock bands.

The reason of him loosing his voice id say is a combination of natural ageing and probably singing out of his natural range. He always had a very nice voice but its true he forced a little the high notes. Amd ofcourse age happened. Now we even heard from Steven Tyler getting vocal issues. Yes tyler lasted longer but sadly luck plays a part Some their voices last longer to some go away sooner. We're just over analyzing because its hard to accept all pop and rock stars of the 80s are leaving us in some way or another. Whitney Houston, prince and Michael Jackson (RIP) are truly phyiscally no longer with us. Celine Dion,Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi and sadly now Steven Tyler are loosing their voices Cher retired Madonna has become a caricature. She is acting desperate to look young and cool. We are in denial we are loosing all artists of the 80s and early 90s . Its a jard confrontation with our own aging. We dont want accept we are loosing those generation of artists and we dont want accept the pass of time.
