Mykal Ridikulus We just love other sports more. Take me, I’m a huge American football, hockey, and baseball super fan, but when the Women’s World Cup and the Olympics roll around, I’m all in for the USWNT. Rapinoe is from NorCal, like us, so we cheer extra hard for her. Look out France, were coming for our cup.

i remember exactly where i was during this goal: playing in a beach volleyball tournament. i made sure at every break between matches i checked the game and i went into a bar on the boardwalk and sat with a few friends/coaches of mine. i didnt leave that chair till the game ended and everyone in the bar was out of their seats screaming. i was late for my next match but it was 100% worth it. there was no way i was leaving that bar until the US won that match! that game was truly amazing..

*The most glorious moment in U.S.A. sports history: The equalizer by Abby Wambach just 30 seconds away from being eliminated from the 2011 World Cup in Germany. Well, this moment and Jessie Owens' in the 1936 Olympiad in Berlin.*

There's something about Donovan's goal that makes for a better reaction. No doubt Wambach's goal was more amazing because it really felt like the game was done, but if you watch the Donovan vs Algeria reaction, it's like, "ooOOOOOOHHhhhh.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" because of the first missed goal and then Landon sweeping in from offscreen. Both are historic though.

What I find so amazing is that the game had so much drama and excitement that it transcended the American Sports fan. It was not Woman’s World Cup it was a classic sporting event I rank it just below the 1980 Hockey Miracle On Ice.

Great video. I wished I was in a position to go watch it with a group of people, but I was streaming it on my computer in my apartment and, well, maybe it's for the best I was alone... because when Wambach hit that cross from Rapinoe I went apeshit and lost my fucking mind. Possibly one of the greatest moments in sports I've ever witnessed. That game was so dramatic and heartwrenching. Tough break with Japan, but I still think the USWNT is a group of winners!

Is the photo at 3:35 the team's reaction to Buehler emerging onto the field from the isolated room she was sent to when she got red-carded? If so, then this is the reaction that moves me the most. As I recall, Buehler emerged with tears and was embraced by her coach, before her team mates could get to her. This team is tight; they played for each other and for their country- and this photo proves it.

I'm very proud of our ladies. Although our loss certainly brought tears to my eyes, I think they played with lots of heart and spirit. In a nation where soccer is not very big, especially women's soccer. Not a lot of ppl show respect to women playing sports, but it's nice to see the country come together for our women. Now to dominate the Olympics. You can do it ladies.

I still cannot believe the way that America came together to watch WOMEN'S SOCCER. For a country that, for the most part, shuns women's sports (let alone soccer) at a national level, the whole country banded together in a way that most of us have never seen before. Is this an example of national spirit or America's extreme love of competition? It honestly doesn't matter. USA USA USA!

@jayfey77 actually, they used this video as preperation for todays game... in the ariticle, and I'm quoting, (you can check it out for yourself on yahoo . com ) As part of their preparations for Wednesday’s semifinal showdown with France, Wambach and U.S. team members watched the compilation video that showed fans across the country deliriously celebrating the dramatic events from Dresden. “I am honored to be a part of it,” Wambach said. “Did I have a lump in my throat watching it? Definitely.”
