I feel sorry for people who don't get this humour, who can't enjoy listening instead of watching. This man is a balm to my wounded heart and soul.

I know people who attended storytelling workshops by Garrison Keillor. I was told that he could just pick a topic and start the story based on that, and showed how at any point in the story, some trigger would point the story in a different direction. Of course, Mr Keillor is well versed and knowledgeable about midwestern small town life and history, as well as a reservoir of knowledge of the world, so he has a lot to pull from. He also has a rye sense of humor with perfect timing and inflection.

Suddenly Lake Wobegon appeared in my suggested videos - out of nowhere. Never listened to these on KZitem, though years back I listened to the whole archive on the PHC website. I thought I'd heard it all, and here are "new" News from Lake Wobegon monologues I never heard before. Treasure!

It's nearly 4 am and I should be asleep but the ending went over my head. I love listening to GK. I just found his material this past week and I'm binging on whatever I can find. I appreciate those who have taken the time to upload his great work. I wish him well.

@@mikhailfaisman5287 I was hoping someone would explain the ending that went over my head, but you're welcome. 😉

I cannot believe the crafting of these stories. I started listening to GK back in the late 70s early 80s as a lad in Sydney Australia. I was blown away by GK's ability to instill emotion, paint mental pictures and make me really care and be involved with fictional characters (albeit based on real ones) half a world away who I had never and will never meet. Sounds silly but I have often wondered whether anyone has made a list of the central characters GK talks about and their relation to each other and the town.

I am loving this channel but can I ask a) does GK know of its existence? b) is GK explicitly supportive of it?

my computer saying it 90 percent is bull. My radio is less and it loud, this barley hear it. I hate hackers take overs. I did try to increse my sound. it does not work
