When you're getting the roof bars, get a roller bracket for the rear. This will mean you can slide ladders onto the roof more easily and won't damage the bodywork. I think Rhino make them (as well as other manufacturers no doubt) Best of luck with the new wheels James!!! Oh! And dead locks!! Lot's of dead locks

I'd say you need, Rhino Roof Rack on top then in the back a suspended floor with racking down one side only which Frees up the other side for anything like tool boxes. As for the button that looks like a old tracker switch. Previous owner probably worked for a national company therfor switching the switch when not working for use of private milage within the vehicle. Nice little run around tho that's all you need. 👌👌

Take your time and build the racking from 12mm ply... You can keep changing it as your tool collection grows and changes shape. Also builds the joinery skills. Plus it's cheap. More positive than negative. Agree with alloy wheels, seat covers and nice roof rack. Ledit for lights In back otherwise winter is horribly dark early.

Nice one on the van and here's my take... Being a 1.6 I'd be joining the AA parts and labour cover because the engine injectors are made of chocolate mate and its only a matter of time before you're stranded. When I had mine I fitted 6 led downlights in the back and was brilliant but if I'd do another I'd use 12v led tape in a profile etc. Look out for some Golf gti seats before those standard ones kill your back. Racking wise I made a false floor to slide my steps under on one side and a pull out drawer on the other and that worked well for me. You can buy roof rails to go either side ( your see the bolts on the roof) and then add the cross bars as needed. Be mindful that there easy to get into so I won't go into detail...drop me a message if you want 👍 Best of luck 👍

I think you made an excellent choice mate. I would start out with a can of black spray paint to do the wheels. Buying higher end wheels will put you back quite a few, but they do look nice. In the end, they don't pay the bills so you may want to wait a bit on them. While leasing a van may seem appealing, it's my understanding that you end up paying more for it in the end. It's a smart looking van that does say "I'm a professional". Good on you.

Tidy van that Jimbo. I would sort the racking and whatever you need to help you work more efficiently on a day to day basis. My next go-to thing would be some permanent sign writing on the outside. There are loads of different opinions on sign writing, but I have had every one of my vans sign written and it has brought a lot of attention/work my way when parked up or working in places. Once the initial outlay has been made, then its free advertising thereafter. Just my opinion. But, cracking addition to the firm👍🏻⚡️

Have you tried the light in the back with that little switch in front turned on? Noice, you won't regret having a used one moneywise. First thing, security and check that back glass has more than a little bit of ply covering it, Second, spray the inside jet black so you can't find anything. That switch is retro fit, could be for anything, they are generic ebay switches, not OEM. Get a roof rack, prefereably one that doesn't whistle on the moror way and a rhino tube for the long stuff. the racking and vaults etc are personal prefernce. Don't forget a 12" sub so you can practice your rhymes, lol. And VAG parts are cheep and easy to fix.

Perfect choice! The engine in that van is very reliable if looked after but keep an eye on the injectors. They are a common fault. That switch I would say maybe controls the fan in the back. Its not standard. And with the racking I use a false floor for my steps then an a4 size filing cabinet for most of the general materials. And a big heavy duty box to keep all the cable out of the way. I have a 2016 vauxhall combo and the rear is tiny!
