The Velours hailed from New York, U.S.A, comprised of Jerome Ramos, Don Haywoode, and John Cheatdom, They were a doo-wop group with many releases who ended up on MGM in the mid-Sixties, recording this classic piece of Northern Soul called "I'm Gonna Change". Then, in the late 1960s, with a name change, they moved to England and became the Fantastics, as the group was now into soul rather than their early doo-wop roots. Releases followed on various labels, Deram, Bell, and Polydor, with the group setting up residence in England. Their biggest hit was "Something Old Something New". John Cheatdom got them all back together to film this classic for The Strange World Of Northern Soul.
