I can actually shed some light on Doc Hammer's voice. I didn't realize this myself at first until my Mom of all people happened to tell me this. I think the best part is that we the audience also kind of figure it out at the same time as Dr. Venture. Like yeah we all know he's a bad person, but there's a difference between being an asshole and being a supervillain. And I think the implication that he will never be truly happy unless he becomes a villain was very powerful- Which is made all the sweeter when he recognizes this and yet still rejects it with horror. For all the terrible things that Dr. Venture does in the show, he really is a good guy at his core. He's just been ruined by his father's systematic destruction of his moral compass. And I love that about him.

@SeruraRenge11
3 ай бұрын
@@CJVS995 No, I don't think he was a clone of Jonas because if that was the case, he wouldn't have the balding issue. By all accounts Rusty is actually Jonas's son with some unknown woman. Or rather, the clone of that kid, which means the original Rusty must have died BEFORE we saw Rusty get impaled as a kid by a little flag requiring the removal of one of his kidneys, since it's not like Jonas would clone him to only have one working kidney. This explains why Rusty doesn't have the best memories of his past adventures, he didn't actually do some of those things, the original did (on top of the fact that as the creators said, EVERYONE in the show has terrible memory which is why there are no true retcons, people just misremember shit). It also means JJ was in fact not actually absorbed in the womb, he was an aberration in the cloning process much like that one Dean clone that lived secretly on the compound.

It's comforting to realize that there are so many people out there who know MGS4, Cowboy Bebop, and VB like the back of their hand, yet also know that Steak delivers wonderful deconstructions anywhere between 1 to 3 hours long, and are STILL worth watching...multiple times.

I showed my bf this show last year and finally allowed myself to...finish the Venture Bros. Truly an incredibly deep piece of art disguised as a parody riff show. Never have I ever felt so loved by writers. I'm kinda grieving over it being cancelled.

Your honesty and unwillingness to run on the treadmill of exponential growth is refreshing and a dying art in and of itself. It's literally what birthed punk, hip-hop, house, and u.k. hardcore. I wish there were a billion more people like you.

It's hard getting people into this show since it's a very specific kind of geeky - not the modern superhero meta, but for shows and genres most people did see or did not care much for. The pulpy oldschool adventure and scifi of B movies and campy saturday morning cartoons from 3 decades ago by the time you've seen them rerun on Cartoonnetwork or somewhere. And without that it's kinda hard to hook people up till the show gets more contemporary. One of the best adult animation shows I've seen though, Patrick Warburton will forever be Brock in my book.

The afterword by Doc fucking hit me hard right in the feels. I don't even know what to say. I do feel like I'm the only one who gets the Venture Bros. I can't explain to people how amazing the show is or what it means because it would take what feels like forever. The day the movie drops and I watch it and it wraps up the epic that is the Venture bros will be a day that someone close to a family member or good friend has died. Like finishing a good book series and knowing that never again shall you read another story about these characters in this world. Never again will you be able to immerse yourself in the struggles, the laughs, or the romance. I miss the Venture Bros every time I'm reminded of it and in a way I love it.

Ngl, it really felt like a show that was made just for me. Like it knews exactly what I like and how I like it, because it was a show made for geeks for geeks who had real love and passion for what they were doing, which made it all not only feel real but like I somehow willed it into existence.

36:56 There was an interesting fan storyboard that got attention regarding 24. Between the time which Helper drives off and the car arriving at the compound, 24 is shown getting out along a highway leading to the Venture compound after stopping Helper, only to see another one of the Monarch’s henchmen hitchhiking to get to the fight. He passes off the car as the other guy drives off for the compound. Later when Brock is returning to the compound after his whole ordeal, he stops by a diner where he bumps into 24, now working as a waiter and recognizes him after 24 freaks out initially. Brock questions that he thought he saw him get blown up, to which he says something along the lines of “Oh come on, all of us look alike in those outfits”. Even goes onto ask 24 if he’s been in contact with 21, to which he says he wish he would, but that this was his chance to get out of the whole henching career. The writers came across it and enjoyed the storyboard. Could’ve sworn seeing 24 among people in a crowd in New York even. Maybe if I did, it was their way of giving some truth to that fan creation. After all, one of the people 24 sees as ghosts, Dr. Orpheus quips is still alive, and took no notice of them or any other spirits around 24, when normally he would be able to see them.

This show is one of the most underrated masterpieces of all time. Yeah serialized stories and nostalgia subversion are commonplace now, but this show had been doing for years before it was even a trend, and Venture Bros did it in an endearing way. While modern subversive entertainment seeks to throw shade at the past in a cynical way, or simply capitalize on old properties' popularity, Venture Bros was all about celebrating the absurdity of it all. I've never seen such an uplifting show about failure. I don't think I've seen a show with characters so perfectly written
