Don and Gerry have pretty much given up touring and playing now too. There is a bit in a video ( 2017 concert, I believe)) where you see the line-up with the three new members and Don, but now Leon is the only (sort of, since he succeeded his dad Mel) original and now Don has relinquished his spot also. Wikipedia.com gives a good rundown of the past and present members, but since Nokie died only early yesterday morning, they had not mentioned his passing last time I looked. Leon is on FB, by the way.
One of my favourites, since my teenage years.. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉...

Remember, In 1958 Bob Bogle and Don Wilson, formed the nucleus of the original music group, The Ventures. The duo was joined a few years later by Nokie Edwards to record "Walk, Don't Run". The song hit Billboard's Singles Chart on July 18, 1960 and peaked at #2. The band was prolific during the 60's with touring and recording albums. Since that spectacular beginning, The Ventures-later joined by Mel Taylor, Gerry McGee, Leon Taylor and Bob Spalding-have gone on to help define an often overlooked branch of rock and roll music - "Instrumental Rock." The band is credited by many guitar legends as being an influence on them. Their style and music is certainly unique. More than 49 years later -- with record sales approaching 100 million-with 14 songs that hit the Singles Charts-with 37 LPs that hit the Album Charts-with a lineup that remains solid-The Ventures style and sound is as pure and powerful as ever. The Ventures are considered by many to be the greatest "surf band". While it is true that The Ventures style and music helped define that musical genre as much as anyone, they are much more than that. Surf is just a subset of what The Ventures are: The Best Selling Instrumental Rock Band in Music History

I went to several shows in Japan 2007-2011; Don Wilson is retiring from the group after this tour in Japan, I will be at the Nakano Sun Plaza show, Don's last Tokyo show SEP 06, 2015. First time I saw them live was in Wichita, KS. March 1963. Between The Ventures and Shadows both are the top instrumental groups, different styles.

Just been told by a friend that Nokie Edwards died this year. So sad I just heard. I guess it's because the Ventures were not the big stars in the UK that the Shadows were. So glad to find an excellent live show of the Ventures. There are so many bad live recordings of the Ventures on youtube that we finally find one that rocks. Nokie though was always excellent. It would have been a dream to have them and the Shadows on the same show in a shootout to see who's best and the winner would have been...…..the audience! Never will happen now except in my imagination.
