I forgot just how great the original guys were, these guys are good to but.... I'am 69 today and if I remember the group from childhood days in the 1960's . I got in a lot of trouble so many times for playing Wipeout drum roll on my school desktop ! My older brother had several records which we wore out playing on our crappy little Alco Monkey Ward record player. We would use our parents stereo console when they were gone. My dad actually had a couple of early albums recorded on his fancy reel to reel he would sometimes play for us kids on a rainy Sunday afternoon. But there were into other stuff like Ink Spots, Chet Atkins, my moms favourite Pasty Clone and Hank Williams Sr and of course some Elvis as well, New Christie Minstrels, Smothers Brothers, Texas Swing and since we were stationed El Paso Texas Marty Robbins was their favorite. Lot of "Western " music as well and Carter Family for our grandma the only one she liked. Those were they day we didn't have TV yet that came about 1967-68 I guess. Late 1950s they got there big Curtis Mathis stereo console, must have been 20 foot long ! Came in 2 parts and had to be joined together once by on installed it the house. Weight a tonne at least. Sounded great if I remember right.

Hello Matt. This sound is fantastic! Brings back many happy memories, and some sad memories. Born in the 50s', I try to listen to the 50's & 60'. However living in Massachusetts, one can not listen to an oldies station. It is all the s..ton the radio, today, that has caused America to be divided.

The Ventures remain, even with the personnel changes (Nokie is basically retired & Mel Taylor and Bob Bogle have passed away) my favorite band. Noting the other discussions about The Ventures association with Mosrite guitars, my understanding is that because of The Venture's use and endorsement, Mosrite guitars became very popular in the 60s. However, at some point the Mosrite Company decided they did not need The Venture's endorsement (bad business move) and things went downhill after that.

Those guitars are not Mosrite's, They are Wilson Brothers Guitars. Don Wilson & Son run the company. Don hates Mosrite! Bob Spalding is playing an Aria model designed for him. 10 ********** for the performance!
