I loved these girls as a kid of 12 or so. Your Mum reminds me of Helen Shapiro's older sister (assuming she had one!) These girls were super sexy, great harmonisers and so attractive that my knees shook! I had the hots for them but wasn't old enough to understand it! It must have been great fun having a Mum that was on tv.. I have always had the impression these three ladies were good mates and had a real laugh when they got together. So sorry to hear of your Mum passing away Kate. God bless her

You never knew your Mum Kate? Oh.....that is so sad lil love. I am 66 so I well remember the times I saw her on the tv. She always looked brilliant. They all did. If there was one time in my whole life I could go back to it would be when I was a small boy and living with my Aunt (my Mum's sister) and her husband. I had a horrible childhood due to getting knocked around by my father and so my Mum sent me to live with my Aunt and it was heaven. It really is so sad to think you never knew your Mum Kate. I honestly feel for you. I know it isn't much consolation under the circumstances, but you had a beautiful talented Mum who had been on the box and had true star quality. How many of us can say that?

The Beatles toured with them for nearly two months November to December 1963 -- there are some great photos of them sitting on The Beatles laps -- lucky lads.

@@vintagegoldenage Google search images - of The Beatles and The Vernons Girls - photos of the girls sitting on their laps and I have never seen John, Paul, George and Ringo look happier - can't blame them - would not be surprised if Paul hooked up with the lead singer - and he included photos he took of her in his new book like you said.

Me neither, was shocked like you at how great the lead is on this for a UK group doing a very soulful, Spector creation.. The arrangement with the trad jazz instrumentation is tasteful and spot on. Really enjoyed it, thanks for the thoughtful post!

John Moeller John, If you want to hear Samantha Jones do a "Spector-like" Wall of Sound, try her "I Deserve It", arranged by Arnold Goland, alledgedly after he and Spector had a bust-up.

This is just a cover of the Ronettes cover of the Ellie Greenwich tune. The vocals are very nice, but man, the tv studio band really doesn't get the feel of the song at all.
