The beauty about Bittersweet Symphony is, that once you hear passed the strings and the vocals, there's some sublime guitars and synths in this under-layer of chaos and the whole thing is supported by an excellent pounding drum loop.

The music is also sampled from the ex manager of The Rolling Stones, Andrew Oldham. And Andrew Oldham made an orchestral covers album of The Rolling Stones. So the copyright is crazy. That’s hysterical 😭 and so true. I’m a Londoner but have been living in LA where nobody walks. Whenever I come back to London it freaks me out. WAs over last year trying to walk down Charing Cross Road and forgetting how to walk into an oncoming crowd. Takes me about 2 weeks to get back into the rhythm. Also made a huge faux pas on the downward escalator, I think you can guess 😱 much tutting from other travelers

The video is a visual of the song. He is walking down a road in one direction with the same attitude the whole time (I take you down the only road I've ever been down ... I can't change). He doesn't care about those who go up against him as he sees them as white noise that he has to suffer through (I let the memories shine, let them cleanse my mind, I feel free now). There is a belief that it is about the end of your life and reflecting back at over what you did and who you became thus him looking at his reflection in the car window at the end of the video

The video is a visual representation of moving through the struggle of life, without the precept of looking back. We walk forwards, we collide into things, we cross paths, we antagonise, we see ourselves, we doubt ourself, we have pain, doubt, insecurities, fears.... But we also have resolve, determination, affirmation, belief, control.. and, as the very end shows... We have family, friends and colleagues,.. who will ultimately walk beside us...

In My Book One of The Best Songs of All Time ... & the Music Video ... CLASSIC!!!! The Music Video Is About His Attitude , His State of Mind ... He's doesn't care about what is Around him or what Obstacles are in his way ... Nothing is going stop him ... So Add the Lyrics of the songs to his mentality ... U will get it ... he knock down a lady , the lady car stop in his way . He just walk on the hood of the car and continue on his way ..the Lady try to confront him & stop him . he just continue walking ... 2 big Guys in his way .. He Just walk right through them like they wasn't in even there .. Older Lady was scolding him with Religion & to change his ways .. Pass Her too ... Just put your self into his don't care mood or mentality & watch it again {Think of the lyrics of the Song} ... Classic Music Video ...

!THE VIDEO- you may not have been able to tell but in the chorus he wasn’t saying I can change, but rather I can’t change… I’m in my mold… So to me the video is a metaphor for how he feels - he feels like he’s stumbling, like he’s getting in people‘s way and they’re getting in his way and he’s in a rut… He shows a little bit of hope in the song but it’s mostly a lament. By the way, there was a dispute over the melody with the Rolling Stones, but they finally settled it legally🙂.

Okay I looked up some opinions about the video - this is what one person said "I mean, watch how the character mournfully declares his inability to change while barreling into people. It's just flat out absurd--all he has to do is move a few inches to one side to avoid a collision, but instead he simply walks along singing about how hopelessly predetermined and inescapable his path in life is. And, what's more, the lyrics often serve as a perfect ironic counterpoint to what's happening in the video."

@AhsimNreiziev

I'm sure there are many interpretations of the video, but to me I key to the line "I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down". He's walking in a straight line, never really stopping. He's bumping into people, causing all kinds of disturbances, and generally being socially unacceptable. Why doesn't he just do what everybody, and in most people's eyes reasonably so, expects of him, and just deviate from his set path a little bit in order to accommodate others and society's expectations? But that's just the thing. He can't leave the path he's on, just like there is only one path in life for him to take. People might not understand this, saying "it's easy, look, everybody does it, so why can't you?", but he's locked into his path, and he sure as hell isn't going to apologize for something which it is not in his power to change.

Hey there man you know it's amazing the orchestration is a sample and they got permission to use it it actually came from a conductor that wanted to do Rolling Stones songs and do them with an orchestra and I think the song or the orchestral piece was the last time which ironically is the very first album I ever bought when I was a kid I saved up a bunch of pennies and went to the Ralphs supermarket and there was a little cardboard bin and that record was there and I bought it he was probably like $2 and some change or less Maybe that's an amazing song by the way last time but the ironic thing is they use the sample all the way through the song which is fine but then the manager of the Rolling Stones renege on his agreement and said that they you used it too much so they sue them and won so that was their biggest hit song and they never made one Thin dime from that song how ironic being that the name of the song is Bittersweet Symphony yeah the name of that album was out of our heads by The Rolling Stones and I think it had 19th nervous breakdown on it that's a badass song to okay homes I'm rambling too much listen man go watch that Dave Chappelle special that just came out June 6th wow that is amazing yeah it's up on KZitem so you don't have to have Netflix okay take care man
