I lived in Indianapolis from 2019-2023. We moved to the east side of Indiana near the state line because of an old large house we saw that we loved, and also to be closer to family. I was single for the first half of those 4 years and spent a lot of time thinking about the city and its nearby areas. Indianapolis still intrigues me and I’m enjoying your videos.

Mr. Compton, I think Carmel has shops and restaurants as well!

The Village of West Clay is the crown jewel of the west side of Carmel. And yes, it's tough to get in there. Living near it can be cheaper, but those areas are also increasing in property value (Lakeside, Hadley Grove, The Lakes at Towne Road, Lakes of Hayden Run, Clay Corner, Claridge Farm, etc). And it's slowly trying to expand outward of the center with the corner of 131st and Towne. Others have tried too, but not as successful as VWC. There is Centennial in Westfield, but it never really got the businesses inside (it has a church and preschool though). Zionsville tried it with Stonegate, but it never really caught on with businesses like VWC has. It is a smaller scale of VWC. I think Jackson's Grant might go this route with businesses. A lot of their homes at the entry have flat roofs and they look like businesses, but are really homes. It could catch on as somewhat of an extension of The Bridges.

Carmel is my ideal city! I would love to move there one day. If I can ever afford to move that is, haha.

Hi Jason, would you be willing to put up a map of the entire Indianapolis and just circle the bad areas that a normal family wouldn't want to move to? It would be great to get a local opinion on it instead of just googling it.. thanks

If I was to live anywhere in the Indy metro, with the money, Carmel would be the place.
