New Orleans is such a fantastic, mysterious, and beautiful place and very wild has the most beautiful cemeteries and such rich history. Beautiful plantations I love the story about Marie Lavou Queen of voodoo This was a very interesting story this lady was a fatal attraction !! Thanks for the video Ron. Wow, Kate was a piece of work. Those kinds of places never seemed to bring anything but trouble but I'm not sure what was wrong with Ed hanging around so long well his life was being threatened. Those were some wild days. I can't believe how the police handled that murder. Like the Keystone cops lol. Ron, you never cease to amaze me at your storytelling skills. I don't know how you keep all of these names, dates, and places straight. Nobody does it like you can. So, RIP to all involved including the abandoned twins wherever they may be ❤💐

A lot of this trouble could have been avoided if Ol Ed would have left town and never looked back the first time she threatened to gut him. I know I wouldn't have hung around. She was definitely set on doing abdominal surgery on him. I wonder what ever happened to her twins?

Good story! I had heard of her, back when I was researching Storyville. I didn't know she had a memorial in Metarie cemetery (gotta go try to find it someday!!) Kate actually predated Storyville. That wasn't enacted until 1897 and lasted until 1917 when the Army made the city close it down due to the soldiers coming over to see the women. Kat's place, at 39 Basin (now on Elk's Place, her house was made into an Elk's Lodge for a time), was just outside of the area designated for Storyville, which is between Iberville and St. Louis, Basin and S. Robertson (the street next to the cemetery St. Louis 2). Mansion Row was Basin between Iberville and St. Louis 1, on that side of the street only. Mahogany Hall, the "Octaroon Palace" of Lulu White, was at 235 Basin.
