"Magic Town" is a popular song first written in 1965 by songwriters Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, and originally performed by The Vogues.
The song is about one man who initially has dreams and aspirations about living in the city, but soon learns that doing so isn't what he expected.
This song was a fairly big hit, despite only peaking at #22 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart shortly after its' initial release as a single on Co & Ce Records.
However, the song did not make an appearance on LP until "The Vogues' Greatest Hits" was released in 1970, featuring a rather unique string overlay used on top of the original single version conducted by bandleader Ernie Freeman.
