Hello all!
I am back down on the south coast of England, on the Isle of Wight for another disused railway explore.
This time I'll be walking the two and a half mile branch line from Brading, on the main Island line between Ryde and Ventnor, and the small coastal village of Bembridge.
The village of Brading is now a couple of miles in land, but up until the mid 1800s, it was a harbour town, with Brading harbour being the most busy on the island.
But then came the reclaimation project, that pushed the harbour further out towards St Helens, and Bembridge, and allowed the railway to be constructed, and completed in 1882.
Unfortunately the line was closed in 1953 to passengers, and ultimately to goods in 1957.
Join me as I take a stroll through the beautiful countryside, and coastal trackbed of what would have been an absolutely stunning little railway.
