I wish my bosses had the same approach to workmanship as you. I agree with your philosophy about taking the time to do things right the first time; and taking the care to address small, but important details. Unfortunately, most of the people I meet want to rush everything and almost never prepare for anything properly. It is very common to be sent to an installation that is missing materials; and then the boss will accuse the installers of poor performance. I am becoming very frustrated with this trade because of terrible management. Our jobs are already very demanding without the added difficulty of trying to figure out how to do more with less. Your work looks great on this installation and it would be a better world if they all were done with such high attention to detail. Keep being excellent and thank you for being generous with your knowledge.

We had our well pump, pressure tank, and filter setup changed out last year. The guy that did the job used the same type of crimp connectors when installing new copper into our pipes from 1975, he'd been a plumber for over thirty years and found this new method to be quite convenient - no hassle of a torch, flux, solder, damp rag, etc. It seems to be holding up, so I can't complain. Water goes through the pipes, no leaks, that's pretty much all ya need, right? My mom was blown away by the procedure - she's the daughter of a plumber, and my grandfather actually plumbed our house - but of course, I had already seen the tech in use on this channel, so hearing about it wasn't a surprise to me. lol

I dunno, the pressed fittings look great, but I’ve also had to cut quite a few out and braze in. Maybe they didn’t prep right like you do. To me I mean you already had the torches on the roof, why haul the extra stuff up just to do two fittings. I mean I get it for testing it, but it just seems like a huge investment for the tools, and you are still going to braze some if not most things. It just seems redundant to me, and a huge investment in something that most of the time won’t be in use. That being said, it’s incredibly helpful and entertaining to watch it being used and seeing someone have success using it, I’ve always been suspect of those, and always afraid to use them, so thank you very much for showing this being employed in a real world application. Btw you are a fantastic technician, you really do go above and beyond in diligence for your customers, some of us can’t be this thorough on jobs honestly. I was someone who was hesitant about press fittings for refrigeration/AC. They seem to be of high quality and do hold true. Recently i was sent to do a chiller start up and commissioning. It held 300 psi for over 1 hour without budging one bit. Was able to pull a vacuum on a 20 ton chiller and 80' lineset ( 2.5" suction 1 1/8" liquid line )down to 200 microns in 2 hours and the decay passed with flying colors. Microns never rose above 250 on the decay test. So im a believer in them now.

To be entirely honest here, the only two reasons that keep 'smart' people from doing the work themselves is all the expensive equipment that you'd only use once in an eternity, wich basically amortizes itself in professional environments due to the daily use and the time it takes to research. Bc in the end most people are able to read a table-/ handbook or an industry standard and most of them will be able to understand it. Sure the work might not be as great as that of an x year professional and more like a fairly new apprentice, but they would be able to get it done and ln working condition. Maybe even up to code.
