The reason Pisces talked about being better. “Thus far, I haven’t found any people worthy of my assistance. Why should I help those who judge me in ignorance and fear?” ---- She could have dropped it. Instead, Erin just shrugged and stood up. She looked Pisces in the eyes and retorted calmly. “Because you’re a better person than they are.” -1.22

What a callback! I do think I miss some of these things by reading week to week, but I like experiencing the story the way the fans did the first time.

Wohoo.... Congratulations on completing vol1 A suggestion just make sure to read first ch of next book offline, with audiobook in the background, as then you would be able to understand the ch more. From next ch onwards you can go solo audiobook route

Interesting, as a lot of people have said NOT to do audiobook for The Call, and just read it. I might sample both as you suggest.

I always thought the rite of Anablabla was so interesting, it truly showcases the power of levels, like when you consider how easily Erin's been leveling she's already after a few months almost at the point where if she were an Antinium she could be revived twice, it really shows the worth of a level i think when only 10 of them are worth an entire rebirth

There's definitely something up with Erin's super fast levelling, I wanna see where that goes for sure.

"I like The Wandering Inn because there is always something fun happening around her inn, and Erin isn't interested in fighting which makes the series wholesome and quite different from any other fantasy series out there.." This statement to someone who has gotten through vol 1 vs one who hasn't~

Congratulations on reaching the end of Volume 1. It only seems to improve from here in my experience, as people level and get more interesting tools. As for people to collaborate with... I don't know of anyone who did what you did with reviewing each chapter one by one like this. Most booktubers seem to read the volume 1 on kindle and give impressions based the entirety of the volume. The V1 re-write was about 1.5 years ago if I recall correctly. the original story started 7 years ago.

Sadly it looks like there's not really anyone who is at a similar point to me, as most read the eBook of V1 too so I have read a different thing.

Hi Sam, I would be hyped for a BookTuber Panel about the Wandering Inn! I cant have enough supplementary material for it. But to be honest, I think you are a tad early for that, because you still don't know all important characters! I know, that sounds ridiculous. Vol 1 feels like the prologue to the Wandering Inn, when you are finished with Vol 5. Like that part where Erin puts up the "No Killing Goblins" sign in Vol 1.

The curse and the blessing of TWI: no story is ever finished. Not really.

I think the reason why the end of the volume at least the first one doesn't feel very cohesive is mostly because it's only separated into volumes out of necessity? Like pirate has mentioned that the story is sort of just a massive plan in their head, and eventually after certain plot points and arcs it feels correct to move on to a new volume since that's how books usually are, it also allows them to take a short break but really the story is sort of just a massive thread connecting everything so the Volume separation is more of a following the norm thing than an actual divide i believe.

This makes a lot of sense, and I actually highlighted this as one minor criticism in my 2024 so far tier list when talking about TWI

@@SamHarrison2099 So regarding kinda 'Meta-theories', should those also be included? E.g. in the video 1.09-1.010 (14min20s), you describe how by seeing the great ritual we now know there's many more earthers than just Erin, and it possibly might make her a lot less interesting as a main character, since she is 'no longer special', and compare it with Superman and then his various offshoots? like Superboy, etc. This isn't really an in-story theory, but about the story? Might be I'm splitting hairs here though. Still interesting to track? Might even be one you can already mark correct/not correct.

I think overall arcs will take place over much longer amounts. Id group vol 1-5 together then 6-9 and 10 is a new start of an arc
@reatter

Which "Arcs" are you speaking of? I find Plot/Arcs are the Achilles heel of the Wandering Inn. I would say I read it because (in order of excelence): 1) Absurd Comedy 2) Weird Twists on Fantasy Tropes 3) World building 4) Dialoges 5) Characters 6) Plot I find the further Plots too long, too much reliant on surprise than suspense or foreshadowing. I know Pirate sets up many threads. But more often than not big moments are surprises, not set up suspenseful conclusions to Things that happened earlier. It's still extremely fun to read, and I am in Vol 8. You don't read 7+ Million words by accident. But the Plots stay weak, imho.

QuestBoundReader has finished Vol3 and is probably the closest to you in experience. I think Wyeth, Matt and Andrew are Close to finishing Vol 5 already. I think a Spoiler Talk could accidentally spoil you, because it's hard to know what didn't happen until end of Vol 1 at that point.
