we know that if we ask according to his will that he hears us, and that we do not receive when we ask because we ask after our own lusts. we also don't know how to pray as we ought to. but the Spirit hears our prayer and intercede on our behalf with groans and uttering too deep for words. this is why the spiritual, the mature, the established are the ones appointed by the apostles to be the ones to pray, to minister, to intercede. because those who are more wholly submitted to the will of God are better able to pray according to it.

It depends on what someone is declaring. If they are declaring that they will have a yacht and a vacation home, then obviously that's problematic BUT if they are declaring something that's clearly God's will (as evidenced in scripture), I think this is a powerful way to pray.

Melissa, I truly appreciate how you came out of the new age, found the truth, realized that even in the Church not all things are as they should be but instead of tossing it and saying, "to heck with the whole lot!" you do your homework, sort the good from the bad and get set on solid ground, able to share with others as you learn. This is the maturity the Church as a whole still needs.

Hi Melissa, I have read the book, Counterfeit Kingdoms, and found it very informative. As I look at the current status of my church, our threat from NAR would be through the music or more to the point, the lyrics. I have never been a fan of sloppy lyric or stuff that repeats endlessly. I was wondering if you would be willing to do a video on NAR terminology. What are specific terms, words, and phrases that have different meanings in the evangelical camp and in NAR. Thank you for a great interview.

We had my mother in law due for surgery years ago for a broken collar bone on a Monday 9am. It came to me as a step in faith to pray for the miracle until 9am and switch to praying for the doctor and procedure at 9. God chose to do the miracle. Praise God. I've had plenty of prayers since then that weren't answered. This doesn't discourage me. It's God's choice, not mine. Unless I know God's will in a particular situation I'm praying like Daniel's 3 friends. I don't know what God is going to do but... I can continue to follow Jesus even when I don't get my way.

Prayers may or may not be answered immediately, or at all. God is God, and does what He chooses. He cannot be manipulated, rushed, bribed nor does he make deals or promises, besides the what He has said in Tge Holy Bible! Prayers is not an order list for our desires, or even our needs. In The Lord’s Prayer, it says to speak to God, asking , “Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth , as it is in Heaven.” His Will may be what you ask, or it may be?that He has better answers that may be answered in ways Ge sees best, over time or later.

Welcome! Little advice: 1. Study the Bible hard, so that when statements are made by people like Wild Bill Johnson, Joseph Prince, Andrew Womack, Joel Olsteen (and the list of clowns go on and on) it will get your attention to discern. 2. How do I discern? When these people (or anyone) quote a verse in the Bible…put them on pause (if you’re watching a video), go to your Bible and read the whole chapter that verse is located in. This will give you CONTEXT as what the verse is really saying and teaching. Most times these false teachers take the verse out of context to fit around their beliefs. These two guest in this video are right on the mark. Listen to them.

Thank you for this interview regarding NAR. My wife and I had a four year "experience" with the ARC. They both sound similar. In our case I found little to no Bblical reference. It was more like gong to a Saturday nightclub on Sunday morning. Also displeased with the liberalization of a traditional denomination we have dropped out of that as well. We now get into the Bible with deep research study, meet with a small group of genuine believers in our home in a relaxed but Holy atmosphere during group worship. Then we share a meal. We have never before been closer to God and Jesus with a constant awareness of God's Holy Spirit.

The online community I was a part of was so disgusted when I told them what I have is incurable and their prayers for my healing weren't doing anything. They told me that I did not have faith and that I gave myself over to the demonic. It grieved me so much until the pastor at my church who was preaching against this stuff at the time said in a sermon that sometimes God will ask you to carrie something to further his kingdom. It's important that we stick to the Bible and correct biblical teachings. Also to attend a church where the pastor is not afraid to tell you what's what.

I realised some months ago that my church is heavily influenced by NAR teachings. "Kingdom-minded" and taking "dominion" are buzz words at the church. I attended church today and it was the same thing. I'm really concerned. Today the head pastor jumped from OT scripture to OT scripture to get this idea of "ushering in" the kingdom message across. This contradicts scripture. God doesnt need us to establish his kingdom. That'll happen at Jesus' second coming. But you know what was missing in today's sermon? Context but much worse THE GOSPEL. I thought to myself, why am I not hearing anything about the gospel? The whole message was about kingdom theology and what we should do to bring that to our country. I've been in a real quandery for months in terms of whether I should leave and where to go. My mom says to speak with the pastor but I have no optimism in that because he's been teaching these things for years. So I want the fellowship. I want to serve in the body of Christ. But every time I come to church I leave feeling concerned.

@@Angie-fn8op I'm not sure I get your meaning... He commanded? Where? What I read is that Elijah cast himself down... Very likely before God... That posture is one of supplication. And the language of James was he prayed earnestly. How does the command enter into this? I just don't see it... Commanding stuff is never what we are asked to do by Scripture. We ask in Christ's name, seek, knock on heaven's door importunately. But we must never forget that we aren't Lord and Master, God is. And so when we approach the God of the universe, who has given us the right to call him father, we come boldly... But we also come with reverence. This is the example our Lord Jesus showed, the example the disciples showed, even the old testament prophets. I think we ought to follow that.

@@Angie-fn8opI don’t see any commanding in 1 Kings 17. Elijah probably passes on to King Ahab a message he has received from God: ‘As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.’ In chapter 18 he also doesn’t command rain. He tells Ahab that he hears rain and tells his servant to go and look towards the sea for a cloud, which then appears. In other words, God has told him that it will now rain and he is passing the message on. James 5.17-18 says, ‘Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.’ None of this necessarily means that Elijah decided it wouldn’t rain and then that it would rain again. It could just as well mean that Elijah prayed it would stop raining, God told him that he would do this, then Elijah prayed that it would rain again and God told him that this prayer too was answered. God could have led him to pray those prayers.

@@lkhai6243 you can say to this mountain be thou moved and cast into the sea... James reference is specific to 1 Kings 17:1. We aren't the Lord's master but He is ours. We are to follow his likeness in every way. The Father showed Jesus what to say and do and he showed his disciples to do as He did. We are to be strong and courageous, bold and victorious. Jesus has all authority in heaven and earth, we are His vessels. He works expects us to allow ourselves to allow Him to continue His work through man. The Word of God is clear on these matters. Remove signs, wonders, miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit then you should remove the 4 Gospels of the ministry of Jesus and the Book of Acts. This skepticism and a lot of “...isms” in the West is the cause of dead churches. The church is not built on humanism and secular philosophy. Apologetics without Holy Spirit leading is Gnosticism.

If someone is truly born again from above. Born of God. Truly saved. That is supernatural. God giving a fallen human being born under the sin curse a new nature and giving that person the Holy Spirit to conform them into the image of Christ that is supernatural. Children of the Most High don’t need to see miracles or see signs for confirmation because we believe and we believe because we have the Spirit of God confirming with our spirit that we are indeed children sons and daughters of God. Adopted into the family. Our spirit cries out Abba Father to God. If you have a hunger and a thirst for righteousness and a hunger for God and a hunger for prayer. Real prayer. And a hunger for heavenly things and a hunger for the scriptures if u are spending more and more time in the scriptures to know God and to draw nigh to God. Then that is ur assurance that you are truly saved. My sheep hear my voice

Hi Melissa, I did recently watch some of Bethel's videos titled "Rediscovering Bethel" and found myself quite satisfied with their responses re "grave soaking" and Bill Johnson's supposed comments suggesting Jesus wasn't fully God on earth when doing miracles. The grave soaking story seemed to come from overly passionate students running with an idea, and news got out that it's an encouraged teaching - which they pointed out is not. Re Bill's comments on Jesus, he mentioned a theologian contacting him saying "I think I know what you were trying to say, would you consider changing the quote in future book publishing to this...", to which Bill was grateful and agreed. Now sure, could it be damage control? Absolutely. But what if it's not? What if it's passionate believers, hungry for God, chasing things and making genuine errors along the way during their quest into the unknown? Surely there's room to make mistakes in spiritual growth? I notice your guests didn't include many, or any, direct quotes. No examples of song lyrics, no quotes from the "Rediscover Bethel" series. More like general summaries of NAR beliefs. I am certainly concerned about all false doctrines/teaching creeping into churches, and I'm certainly in no rush to visit Bethel. But how do we ensure we're not attacking other believers purely from vague suspicions?

The issue is two fold. One Bill Johnson and his movements version of prophesy isn't subject to confirmation. If it doesn't happen you're just supposed to disregard it or wait for it to happen later. The problem with that is true prophets can't be wrong. To be wrong has VERY negative consequences to the point of death. Meaning you shouldn't flippant teach people to prophesy out of their own heart as truth. Those things hurt people when they don't come true, or the healing doesn't happen because it never came from God. Two, I've seen real miracles but not from these people. I've seen them in small groups and quiet prayers where God changed people. Not some great showpiece in front of others for effect.

If you truly follow their music you will notice that there is an undercurrent of little god's doctrine. They are declaring things left and right without, I believe, any word from the Holy Spirit that it is his will. There is a difference between asking what the will of the Father is and then going forth in authority when you know what His will is, vs repeating declarations over and over without knowing what God's will is and acting like a little god.

Thank all of you for a great interview. Very informative and timely. "What does scripture say?" used to be the best way to check for false teachings. So, of course, they are creating their own scripture version. More and more, I see entire denominations, looking at United Methodist Church, focusing on life coaching how to live a better life through affirming and loving everyone instead of focusing on praising God for what He has done in our lives. It becomes a focus on self improvement instead of salvation from our sins.

This is a very good and informative video. I will only add to the last topic....the music. I am 67 and have always been a musical person and have liked many genras of music thru the years. I will say that after listening to Bethel Music and Hillsong Music especially with their live performance videos, they are attractive to the flesh no doubt. Their music is well crafted even without the lyrics. Then add yourself into the crowd and it is increased as any past rock concert goer knows. Then add the lyrics and you have your greatest tool to draw people in by way of a kind of trance. Their music is very trancey. Let's be honest on this, it is spiritual, and this is why it is so effective and more so if you are in the crowd. I can say that some of the Bethel and Hillsong lyrics are aiming the listener to the dark side. Its mystical or gnostic and we all have a natural attraction to it in my opinion. Like much of the worldly music, if you just read the lyrics out loud, you would reject it. But in the right song, you accept it into your mind. We are all made this way IMHO so we must be careful.

The assistant took over and stopped the outreach in favor of inreach it went with WOFso I left . Tried to go back to the earlier big church but they were experimenting with all kinds of things like cell groups and prophets ect . They left the AG and ditched the church leadership elders and went with the NAR heavy . Seems like the enemy always finds a way to get in with a counterfeit holy spirit and deceive believers ?

Bethel. I've heard that name alot over the last year or so. But I knew nothing about it/them, or why so many other people were talking about "Bethel". So I am grateful for this video. I stumbled onto someone on KZitem, that I think should be avoided. FALSE TEACHER Alert! Troy Black. People like to feel that God is using them. But caution is needed here. We can get all caught up in wanting-to-feel-special. One way a person might do that, is if they feel God has "given" them a "word-of'-knowledge" or "vision". But he doesn't. Not anymore. How do I know?-- Read HEBREWS, chapter 1, verses 1 thru 4. We don't get mini-revelations. Or visions. We have Jesus. Jesus is the word. (See the opening verses of the 1st chapter of the Gospel of John). We have the Bible. It's enough. Prove it to yourself: ---> 2nd Timothy chapter 3, verses 16 & 17. "16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [a]instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be COMPLETE, thoroughly equipped for EVERY good work. It's all there. In the New Testament. Read it. Use it. Grow with it. That you may be COMPLETE. It's enough. We Have, what we need. Already. All of us. We dont need to tune-in-next-week and see what his next 'round of fortune-telling is. But it probably gets him likes on KZitem, and some popularity. But that's no guarantee. Joel Osteen has tons of followers but he's wrong. Too many Christian members, are simply UN-discerning. They don't read their Bible. We don't need to wait on some new "national-enquirer type of new revelation". But Viewers will. It's sorta like having your tarot cards read. Ooooh, what will they say next? This is "Clickbait" and this guy should be exposed! But-- Troy LAYS IT ON THICK, especially when he prays! In his KZitem videos. It all sounds so holy, doesn't it, with "Holy Spirit" this, and "Lord" this and Lord that and lots and lots of christian catch-phrases and terminology. Newbies who don't know better may fall for this. He should Repent. And read Hebrews. And the rest of the New Testament. I already said so myself on his website in the comments. There are no "words-of-knowledge revelations" today. Hebrews 1:1-4 again. And if he's a "bible believing Christian", he can start believing 2nd Timothy 3:16-17. Read it. You already have what you need. The answers are in the book (Bible). And if he's not a bible-believing Christian, he should be. The answers, are already in the book. Start reading, and doing. PS-- No, I am NOT an Atheist. I have read the New Testament 3 times in 3 different translations. That doesn't mean I'm always right, either. But I believe its more important for Christians to go by the WORD, than any "revelation" or vision. Beware.

1 King 22:12 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand. 13 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good. 14 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak. 15 So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD? 17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace. 18 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil? 19 And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. 20 And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. 21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. 22 And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. 23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee. 24 But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee? 25 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself. The hyper-Charismatics call anyone who calls them into question sour grape critics because Charismatics are the largest group of Christians and have the best music. Numbers do not prove truth. Micaiah spoke against all of the king's prophets when commanded to speak the truth. Zedekiah smacked Micaiah accusing him that the Spirit was with Zed and Micaiah was vindicated later on. The majority was wrong as it it often is so it is not sour grapes to question those who claim to be prophets. Had the king listened to the minority report he would have had a different end and so would the arrogant false prophet. Laodicea was rich in stuff and bankrupt in the spirit. Wealth and popularity also does not prove you are teaching truth.

I grew up in the Charismatic movement and was at its epicenter (I now call it the Charismaniac movement), and most of the NAR teachings were present then, in the 60's: ideas like you were healed, even when you obviously weren't were things I heard growing up. Imagine Jesus saying to someone he healed: "now you may not see that you are healed, but you just keep believing it, and eventually you will see it." Nonsense. In the sixties we saw all the same old parlor tricks of "Apostles" pulling peoples legs (leg lengthening), all the three-ring circus nonsense of shouting and hollering and :slaying," and prophesying over others, with tongues and you name it-it was all from the Pentecostal and Four Square Church movements. The entire shepherding movement (of authority and Lording it over others) is nothing new. The Charismatic movement was rife with this nonsense. Bethel and the entire NAR movement is just warmed over Shepherding Movement and Charismatic Movement on steroids. I would say that the only difference is better avenues of propaganda and promotion. Your government is involved in funding and promoting these churches too-all with the same goal they've had for hundreds of years: destroying the true Church. There are "change agents" in every major denomination-and most of these so-called leaders of NAR were probably trained at Langley or come from military backgrounds or places like Stanford, etc. This is not a conspiracy theory. My Father worked in and with intelligence agencies and their "change agents" are everywhere and in every sector of society (including of course, the Universities). You have no idea of the extent and reach of intelligence. I also worked in the Hollywood entertainment industry and most of your TV shows and movies are funded by your government. Research the subject. You'll find it is true. I was in the industry. It is a cesspool of intelligence. Christian film makers are no exception either.

Truly grieves me that many Christians are banning together to attack other believers who don’t follow their protocols of faith, or of unbelief. Bethel has certainly made errors and corrected many of them. I wouldn’t agree with everything they teach, as with any church, right? But I love their love for people proven by their love for Jesus, and the enormous amount of fruit God has blessed them with. The integrity and humility and love I see coming out of the senior leader ship is astounding. Btw, since you feel it’s so vital for you to point out the errors of others and exclude all of the good they have done and do, why don’t all three of you point our your errors of teaching that you teach others? ???? I didn’t think so. Yeah I know you think I’m brainwashed and I am, I’m brainwashed by the love of God. It just saddens me that these warnings you feel to trumpet across the internet, also influence the innocent believers to become professional skeptics, who just mimic what they’ve been told instead of actually learning how to live in the power and love and truth of beautiful Holy Spirit.

On what she explains in 04:18 I have a question... isn't all that she mentions inline with these passages John 14:12Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father., Joel 2:28 .... And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Ephesians 4:11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers... can someone help me understand what these mean ?

I'd be interested in learning more about Jesus Culture, Melissa. I know it's kind of an off-shoot of Bethel, but I'd love to hear more. I know people intimately involved in this off-shoot, even calling themselves prophets (which is part of why our friendship broke). It was painful but they're still involved and even doubling down on this.

The best, most thorough and scripture - based discussion of the new apostolic reformation I have ever heard. Thank you for this insight. Praise the Lord and thank Him for his Scripture.

There are so many offshoots calling themselves Christian/Christianity, it is a wonder new Christians have a chance at learning anything biblical. I am old, and though my early years in the church weren't really in depth, I know when things sound off. Am doing more study now.

Check out Adam Magaña of Active Church in San Luis Obispo, California. Unbelievable narcissism and ignorance. He’s been a conman his whole life. Check him out. Some of these wolves know they’re evil, but they just don’t possess any shame. Adam Magaña is unbelievably defiant.

The surest type of churches seem to be independent baptists with KJB, and hymnals. They basically preach bible With only Male pastors
