Ale (Alejandra) is pronounced "AH-leh". She had probably played for no more than 2 years at that time. They were 14, 12, and 9 at that time (they're now 22, 20, and 17). She looks so cute in sandals, with a short scale bass that's almost bigger than she is. She's now the tallest of the three, and plays a 5-string Spector USA XL. Kirk Hammett's comment about this was "the drummer kicks maximum ass". Pau kicks rather more than that now, but at the same time she can play a delicate ballad on the piano and sing it (Breathe, Black Holes, Show Me The Light). They came to Lzzy Hale's attention about 2 years ago, when they played Dull Knives for the De(Tour) virtual concert, and she immediately said that she wanted to take them on tour. They were thrilled, since Lzzy is one of their idols. Fast forward to this summer, they have been opening for Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless, and at their show in Dallas last week, when Dany was changing guitar (she plays Queen of the Murder Scene in a different tuning), she was shocked to find rather than her guitar tech bringing out her other guitar, Lzzy Hale presented her with a brand new instrument, a Gibson Explorer. She was even more shocked when they came off stage to find that rather than Lzzy loaning her her guitar that it was in fact a gift that Lzzy had Gibson build and set up to her specifications (thanks to Dany's guitar tech). She has been using it on some songs since then and she has promised to rock the hell out of it. Halestorm has since asked The Warning to take them on tour in Mexico. Lzzy's comment was that for ages she has been trying to find someone who would really inspire her on guitar, and The Warning is finally the band to have done so. They are a much better band live than in the studio. I think that it's partly that they're energized by playing for an audience, partly that they write their music from the get-go with performance in mind, and partly that their individual, ensemble, and performing skills are still improving at a rapid pace. I've seen them live twice this year, my first two times. The first time was a headlining show in Boston, so most everyone there was very familiar with them; the second was on Halestorm's tour, where two people sitting next to me came away well and truly Warned. Outstanding is something of an understatement. No special effects, skimpy costumes, any of that nonsense. A simple light show if that's available, but otherwise just the three sisters, their instruments, and their voices. I prefer their version of Enter Sandman (it's not Enter The Sandman); it's not the same overplayed metal standard, but something much more melodic that still captures the power of the song, just in their distinctive way. That was for the Blacklist album celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Black Album, and they had about a week between when they were invited in and they had to turn in the finished track. They (along with Alessia Cara, who was in Canada) did it. They also did a terrific, moody video to go with it, and there's also a behind the scenes video of them recording it in the studio. They are very proud of the song and are playing at all of their live shows. Dany used her new guitar, which is the same make as what James Hetfield uses, so very appropriate. They're very nice people, too. They posture on stage as well as any rock or metal band without being suggestive, but they're very sweet and humble (not to be confused with soft, which they are not). I met them at the meet and greet in Boston and mentioned to them that they had inspired me to start playing my viola again after 20 years, and they thought that was neat. A DJ from a New Jersey radio station was interviewing them before a recent concert, and mentioned how passionate the fan base is; she had interviewed them earlier and the interview got a lot more hits than she's used to. Dany said "that's The Warning Army".

Did I see a smile Grumpy Tom? There is no doubting the talent of these 3 amazing sisters. Yes also, these 3 sisters have been brought up immaculately, I travelled to see these 3 sisters in 3 shows in Texas from England. When I met them they were very humble and appreciative that I had travelled from England to see them. Their father Luis shook my hand and thanked me for my support. Great family. They have now released their 3rd studio album but their first under Lava records. The album entitled ERROR is superb. A great mix of songs and I am sure you will enjoy it 100%. Look forward to watching your journey of discovery with this band and maybe we will at least get a grin 😁 haha. These young ladies fill my heart with joy and hope they will affect you the same way. 🤟

48 songs on my Spotify playlist, minus one for the second version of Escape the Mind, minus one for Intro 404 which I don't count as a song, which leaves us with 46 originals. I'll count the reworking of Enter Sandman as an original because it's not a straight cover.

@@ivanguerrero7934 No worries. I had counted these up a while ago wondering how it compared to other groups. At 46 originals, they already have an impressive catalog and could literally reach down and grab any song and play it in concert should they choose to do so. For comparison, Halestorm looks like they have about 60 to 70 originals (tons of duplicates on Spotify) and TPR has 55 by my count.

To a grumpy old guy from a not quite (but almost) curmudgeon. I just discovered The Warning myself a couple of months ago, I they have reiginted a thirst for music that I thought was dead. Those young ladies are ass-kickers extraordinaire. Pau, especially. She pounds the &*) $ outta the skins like Bonham did. And she sings at the same time. Wunderbar! I live just outside (and work in) El Paso, TX, and I cannot understand why these super-talented young women are not on regular rotation on KLAQ, our local rock station. Half the crap they play on there sounds like boy bands with a random distortion pedal, when it should be kick-ass rockers like The Warning who are getting the airplay. They are the future of Rock. And some others like them..check out Asterism on KZitem. All instrumental, with a male drummer & bassist and a female guitarist who's skill blows me away every time I iisten to them. She's like 21 but sounds like she should be 40. Mad skills. Check 'em out . You will not be disappointed. Viva The Warning!

And they were all able to play their instrument and sing at the same time (most impressive of course in Pau's case). Obviously they are talented, but what in my opinion is even more important is their passion, dedication and persistance. For example Pau was practising for about one year to be able to play this drum cover, when she was 10 years old: kzitem.info/news/bejne/rot3zopuhF-nZnY. Can you imagine a 10 year old child to concentrate on one goal for such a long time. Most of them would surrender after one week. Also Dany stated, that one week after having started playing the guitar, her fingers hurt that much, that she was about to quit her lessions, but it was no option for her to give in. This is possible, because they love what they do that much. Luck for us, I think.

@@grumpyoldguyreacts - I'm glad you did ! And there are many of the TWA that fit the same bill. The army is an amazing bunch of fans. Prior to being introduced formally to The Warning a few months ago ( I had only seen the ES cover from 2014 years ago), living through the 60's, 70's & 80's except for a few groups, I would mainly listen to 'Classic Rock' because most other 'music' was crap. And now I listen to The Warning daily, and if asked who my favorite band is now, it is them without a doubt. I'm sure that the TEDx videos have been suggested to you, but even if you don't 'react' to them , I would strongly suggest that you watch them in their entirety.
