I keep meaning to do another video with Emma. I’ve made some slight modifications to her lighting setup which I think will make for much improved video footage. 😁

Great video brutha! I work in So Cal Western Concrete pumping. We were taught similar water washing 👷🏾🤙🏾 the only thing different is we dont pump forward 3 strokes after initial reversing. They're is many different ways to water wash but like you say in your videos "sucking a sponge never fails....ever!" Have a good one and be safe out there!!!

You’re so right in saying that. I’ve had literally 10 different people tell me 10 different ways to wash-wash, each of them respectively being the “proper way”, lol!!!! Thanks brother, you too. 😁😁😁

Don’t know about rocking it forward. On the 56Z I’d go full hopper of water take 6 strokes, full hopper 6 strokes. Full hopper let it pop 3 times . Pump off . Wide open reverse. Clean as a whistle. Everytime

I pump in Seattle. We water wash pretty much every time to clean the pipes. It’s quicker than sucking a ball. One recommendation, never hold the hose when water washing. We also run it forward and back 3 times to wash the deck pipe.

I’ve been using it more and more recently. Definitely has its advantages in some scenarios. I learned the hard-ish way (covered in slurry) not to hold the hose when the water comes through 😂😂😂. But yes, would be not ideal if it were to plug while holding onto that hose. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

great video man! just a thought, but why not try to mount a light in the sponge like the go pro is? im sure you could find a go pro mount that could hold a light. just a thought. still a great video, but would love to see how the pipes look after a water wash or the 2 sponge method. would also like a video of what the pipes would look like if you just brought back one sponge and how much build up it would be.

It’s tough to see in the video, but the camera itself just barely fits through the 5” pipeline, so the lighting mechanism has to be housed within that same footprint as the camera. Problem we encountered here was from facing the camera forwards. The camera becomes cockeyed in the pipeline, which tore the light off, but also covers the lens in slurry water after only a few feet of travel. I’m thinking that I may try mounting the camera to one of the cylindrical style sponges and pull that through facing forwards. We’re still heavily in the R&D phase of this right now 😂😂😂

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 i see what your saying. What if you possibly tried the rope ball Method? Like one having the light and the other the camera? I don’t know if it would work or not either, I’m just trying to help with r&d lol!

There is no good way of cleaning a hopper on a pump it goes as long as it's good and clean for the next and ready for the next four that's all that matters because when those concrete trucks back up to that Hopper those barrels are not always clean and you're going to get crap from those trucks take
@fronabargerconveyingpumping

We always try to keep our hoppers very clean. It can be tough cleaning under the S-tube sometimes however. Chunks that have built up on the side of the hopper I always try to get them off before the next jobs. A Clean hopper is a happy hopper.

also a suggestion...it would make it easier on your guys if you had 4 ft 5' hose on the jib then add reducer...makes it easier to clamp it, and if you plug up you can pinch hose and not make a mess....
@canadianconcretepumper1979
Жыл бұрын
We’ve used a similar setup (except with a 4” hose) when we’re bouncing back and forth between pumping into system and pouring straight from the boom. It works really well. The only concern for us becomes total amount of weight hanging from the tip as we often taper down to 3” or smaller hose as well as run a longer (20’h) hose when reaching over top of houses etc…

Why not trying to insert the camera on one of those putzmaister orange sponges the cylinder looking ones (not the orange balls) just like dig some of the front of the sponge out so the go pro stay inside, that way it doesn't break with the ball stopper😅

It was passing through the tight radius 90 between sections D-E which knocked the light off of the camera. I like where you’re going the the cylindrical sponges. That was actually my next plan of attack…. Stay tuned 😁😁😁
