The week before Thanksgiving is awesome. You get the tail end of Food and Wine Festival. You get Jollywood and Mickey’s Christmas. Weather is typically pleasant. You don’t get the Thanksgiving crowds.

My sentiment is similar to how some people feel about their loved ones dying. I don't want my last memories at the Parks to be when they're broken and miserable. I want to remember them at their best, and the fun I had with my loved ones. My last trip was at Disneyland in 2018, when my best friend had just graduated college.

Wow. While I don't personally feel the same way, I understand where you're coming from. There have been too many choices made since 2020 that prioritized profit over the guest experience. Despite that, I still think Disney World and Disneyland are amazing places to visit, and I really hope that Disney works on improving the experience moving forward.

It’s crazy how hard it becomes to try to get an advantage when you have kids. The school schedule is the same for almost everyone so I am stuck going during the super crowded/expensive times or during the super hot times. Time to “get sick” for a week I guess.

So true! It's something that I'm trying to figure out how to navigate as well. My kids are small enough that it's not too disruptive to take them out for a week here or there, but I imagine that will get more challenging as they get older.

We decided to say "f it" and missed a few days. Our district has some mental health days and felt this was good for our family. As long as you watch your total yearly absenses just do it.

My family & I always traveled during the off season. So not when we had school breaks. They would just ask our teachers if it was an option for us to do our work in advance or have make up work when we get back. It was never an issue. Of course that depends on the school & teacher.

Fantastic that your district has mental health days! And I agree, taking your family to Disney can be a great way to mentally recharge.

When I was young, my parents would do the same thing and take us out during the off season for Disney. Not all the time, but maybe once every other year. Like you said, with some planning and communication with the teachers, it was never an issue, and going when it was less busy was awesome.

Definitely a good point! Spring break is really crowded, basically from the second week of March through mid-April, and especially around Easter.

My sister and I are going the second week of December. I'm hoping it's still far enough out to not get too much of a Christmas crowd 🤞

I just got the pixie dust pass, so the blackout dates tell me when its too crowded...
@Guide2WDW

Looking at the blackout dates can be a good rule of thumb! Also, looking at what days Disney prices the highest. However, it's not 100% predictive of crowds. For example, Labor Day Weekend is blacked out, and that is the least crowded holiday of the year. And summer holidays like Memorial Day and Fourth of July have become very light days over the last two years. I get into it more in my next video. Thanks for the comment!

One of my favorite weeks to go! I go into more detail why in next week's video, but I've been there many times during that week and it's always been great.

I'm expecting that to be a good time to go. In my next video, I break down the times next January that should be good, and the 22-29 should be excellent. You're getting there just after the MLK 3 day weekend. The last week in January has typically low-to-moderate crowds, there's the EPCOT Festival of the Arts (which is great), and you should have nice weather. Hope you have fun! 🤩
