How about legendary billy smith. The goalie of the islanders who refused to put a ball of tape on the end uf his stick. He claimed it affected the balance. He was a master of psychological head games & would use it effectively. I remember at the end of the pre game warm up he was last off the ice into the other goal. He was the first goalie to score a goal during a game. He was despised by the buffalo fans.

Growing up, our basically tenured starter (not technically but he was our #1 option every year) had that on one of his sticks. He had one that could be removed so he could use it on either of his sticks

These are not allowed in the NHL. I think technically you could do it with tape. I'd have to check the actual rule to see the wording on that. But you can't add parts the shaft of a stick. The only exception I know of to that is that if you cut the stick to height, you have to cover the end. Whether thats with a plug or tape.

Shouldnt be. Thats gonna cause any puck coming up the stick to bounce off away from the net. Ban that immediately and tell everyone whining about pain when they get hit with a shot to suck it up like the rest of us.
