A cycle ride from Gowerton along the western side of the Gower Peninsula to Weobly Castle, Llangennith, Rhossili Bay, and Fall Bay in Wales.
I had planned to return to the Gower Peninsula ever since my first ride along the southern coast line. Not far from the city of Swansea but as beautiful as some of the West Wales coast line makes this quite accessible.
This ride starts in the north at the village of Gowerton taking in a small section of Sustrans Cycle Route 4 and then along the local cycle trail until that peters out and the ride is then mostly along the country roads.
A stop at Castle Weobley a little over half way with stunning views over the salt marshes, over to Rhossili Bay, a short stop for some cake at a cafe and then in search of my destination, Fall Bay, one of the most inaccessible bays in the Gower.
It was a hot day with factor 50 sun lotion applied most of the day with just a thin layer of cloud in places taking the edge of the last of the summer sun.
The return journey via the quickest recommended route was quite challenging as the road took me over the top of the hill which was quite tough after a day of riding.
While only several miles down the coast from my previous ride this was a different ride and a little bit more dramatic when it came to the coast line which makes the mood of this ride just a little different.
I hope you enjoy this one.
