Re: can she tell... All she knows about the rebirth of the Dragon is the date of birth. She knows the Dragon Reborn is 20 years old. That's it. That's why she was interrogating Nynaeve at the cave pool. Once she found out Nynaeve was 25, Moiraine knew it wasn't her. So, it's one of these other four, but she doesn't yet know which one, so she takes them all. The only other thing she knows as an indicator to watch for is that the Dragon Reborn will be able to channel.

Awesome reaction! oYeah, and we all had that same reaction when Perrin killed his wife (That wasn't in the books, btw. They were all about 17 in the books) because Perrin is to me the most consistently loveable character in the books. But this addition really sets up his pathos really well without having the ability that you have in books to hear the character's inner thoughts. I'm really glad they have done this well enough to get non-book fans to invest in it. Trust me, this story is vast and a real roller coaster ride of action and drama and emotion, politics and intrigue. If it's done right, it should be way better than GoT, which was actually somewhat derivative of this. Also, they have no excuse for f***ing up the ending like GoT, because it's all written already.
@wr5488
2 жыл бұрын
Man like... Perrin killing his wife is both butchering his character AND being an awesome way to show his "gentleness" without having inner thoughts or... SNIFFING. Like its equally a stupid idea and a great idea. Its PERRIN. PERRIN. Book Perrin would've given up right then and there. A "fuck it im done Im going back to the forge until the Last Battle is over". How much guilt did he have over a fucking Shaido hand? Him killing his wife would've broken him completely.

"Your parents just left the room!" Well, they don't go into it, but once Egwene was accepted by the Women's Circle she was given - permission - to braid her hair, which marked her as a fully-grown woman in the village. It was already known that she and Rand were "sweet on" each other and "walking out", and it was well expected that once Egwene had her hair braided she would take him as her husband. The parents knew full well what was going on, but in this society, by age 20, they were already full adults in the eyes of the village and high time they got on to making babies.

I liked the first episode and the second and the third. I've only read the series once through and a couple of the later books twice once the last of the books released so it's been a while and I don't remember super specific details but I didn't have a problem with it. But I've also been following the Q&As by the creator and have had time to get used to any potential changes so I'm not bothered by changes other book readers don't like. Perrin's wife though...wasn't sure about but I have faith in the creative team and am willing to wait to see how it plays out. But also, the creator has said that they're taking all the material and creating a story as a whole so missing pieces could turn up later. Overall, I liked it. @@lupusmacbeth8784 It is very interesting for me to see how different fans of the books interpret things totally differently :-) Honestly, as a book fan, I personally think this actually an improvement over the books. As much as I love Robert Jordan's writing, romantic relationships were probably the greatest weakness in his writing. Rand and Egwene's relationship had absolutely no emotional impact for me in the books, I can definitely see the way the series is handling this leading to a better payoff in that regard.
@SmartAlx
2 жыл бұрын
@Henri Cloete Rand and Egwene didn't really have a romance per se. They had like an obligated crush. Everyone expected them to get married because they're the only ones at that age in the village. (I guess Matt and Perrin weren't as good of a fit for Egwene.) I think their feelings were born from obligation, and it reads that way in the books. I like it that way. It's almost like they were reading the pattern and knew they weren't really made for each other.

The book series was way too long IMO. I was good with the trilogy when it 1st came out. Then it went to 5 books and I was like, cool. Then 7... Then 9. I couldn't do anymore. Now, in the books the Dragon is always male so she can't tell which of the boys it is. Each of the kids, including the women I think, are what's called "ta'veren" or something like that. They will be significant in history and that kinda muddles Moiraine's magics in trying to find exactly which is the Dragon Reborn

11-14 is absolutely the highlight of the series in my opinion. In middle school I read 1-10 and could not make it through 10, was totally bored and lost. Reread it in college a few years ago. 10 is still pretty damn boring (no joke you can skip this except for like the last 4 pages), and 6-10 is pretty political and world building and general-ing armies. But 11-14 is like a breath of fresh air after the middle of the series. Everything you want to happen happens, the build ups all start paying off, crazy fights and plot twists, and all the incompetent villains are killed off early on in the series so only the serious endgame dudes are left. One villain has like 400 pages devoted to fighting him lol and he just kicks heroes asses left right and center. Genuinely the prologue to 11 was better, more interesting and (almost) more eventful than the previous few books combined. Jordan writes 11, and then Brandon Sanderson uses his notes to finish up 12, 13 and 14. The last three were supposed to be one book but it was waaaaay too much to put into one book.

Umm, I felt like I seen this type of series/movie before tbh. -Gather up the crew and let's go on a journey. -Everyone has a secret. -One will turn to the dark side, obviously. -The leader has questionable motives. -Boy and Girl/Man and Woman in love. -One character about duty/honor. -Big bad and his/her minions. Stop me, if you heard this before😂 Anyway. the acting is so-so the worst being the red hair guy. Dude looks to be laughing all the time. It's distracting. The best acting is.... so far no one lol. No real standouts, not even from Ms. Pike. Oh, well it's free on Prime and I might continue with it.
