That White Horse is amazing! I was wondering how Farouk would react to it, but he seemed okay with it.. What a lively ride and so peaceful. Getting out in the woods and on the trails are balm for the soul; I do a lot of thinking while I am so engaged. Looking forward to part two!

So quiet. Except for a few people it looks like you have the county to yourself. Thank you for the sighting of The White Horse and the "picture perfect" moment you and Farouk provided for the walker. Quiet city. Staying safe. No traffic. No cable cars climbing the hills. No fog (wrong season) or I could hear the soothing sounds of fog horns on the Bay.

I love it there! Very happy memories of a holiday we took in Whitestone cliff when we climbed the hill with our kids and snacked on the wild blueberries that grow up there, looking down on the valley with the gliders swooping silently over our heads!

Hello Tara, what a great ride on beautiful Farouk, such a good boy. Can totally understand your emotions on seeing lovely Bella full of the joys of life. We also have a white horse monument in nz, it’s on a hillside in a small town called waimate in the South Island where my youngest son lives with his family. It’s obligatory to drive up there whenever we visit and is a memorial to the horses who worked hard to help develop the town and roads many years ago. Bless them all!! Best wishes and good health to you all. 🥰 Maureen nz

I hadn’t heard of the White Horse of Kilburn until watching this video. After I finished watching part one of your ride (which is very enjoyable), I decided to google the site. Found a lovely history on Wikipedia about the White Horse of Kilburn with links to some other white horses in England…at Uffington, Westbury, and Cherhill. Look forward to part 2 tomorrow! TTFN 🥰🥰🥰

Westbury wich is in Wiltshire the main one of at least 13 and also dates back to 1700s its also the oldest one in Wiltshire. I think the Uffington one is the oldest one of them all throughout UK though I could be wrong I only know this useless bit of info because I live in Wiltshire i think the Uffington one is just over the border though if I remember rightly

I live in the forest and a couple of years ago the forestry commission took a lot of the best walking places and converted them to bike trails. We are not allowed to walk on these now. The other trails are a little more difficult but now the bike riders are using these and a more rude surly bunch I have seldom met. They don’t warn you of their approach and often swear and use bad language as they pass. It has stopped us going in the forest as we used to.

That was a nice ride 🥰 and yes I would agree that cyclist was a real old misery guts, not even acknowledging 🙄 Some people are empty it’s weird especially at this time. People I don’t even know are saying hello. A little boy and his mum called out hi as they walked past my house the other day. Never seen them before it was very lovely when life it this quiet at present. I have to ask, where are all the other riders?? I would think the bridle paths would be bustling 🤷♀️ and I’d love to know the story of the white horse? 😁🙋🏻♀️

What a gorgeous day again one extreme to another wet and flooded land now to bone dry land , we got a storm come through Sunday afternoon with good size hail for a few minutes soaked the soil for less than a day we just got the edge of the storm didn't see lightning so just thunder rumbling along a couple or so miles away. Farouk was a lot better in the canter after bolting along the fields at boltby very relaxed until he saw the flapping bin bag but he got over it well . At this difficult time for you all its good you have Apollo and Farouk and ikey to keep you busy . Well today with me is a wall of blue sky compared to Sunday and yesterday. My queen cat that brought three kitties in her belly has decided since having to walk to the local supermarket to follow me luckily she only goes so far up our street and hasn't followed me when crossing over to the other side as the roads get more busier and the supermarket is quite a walk along the old A1 . I said to her today you will I will put a harness on you one day , she will hate it one way to put her off from doing it !😾

Did Farouk shy at the deadfalls about 3 minutes into the video? I'm questioning as I had not remembered such things being on his fright list, so couldn't decide if he shied, or it was a camera aspect. I have to make a non-English observation about the 'dry humour' of the English, especially whoever came up with the term "folly" to describe such constructions of the White Horse and other such things. In many cases, it's probably more accurate than many people would acknowledge. P.S.: I wonder if your bicyclist was unsociable, or just on his/her first cycle of the season and couldn't come up with enough breath to speak. 😓

Is it me or has Farouk changed colour a bit since you got him? I notice he’s been clipped but the unclipped bits look a bit different in shade than I remember from earlier videos. I know horses can change colour for various reasons, just checking it’s not my imagination lol. Loving these hacking videos, anyway.

Lovely peaceful ride, it was good to see the White horse up close, only seen it from a distance. We often find that some people don't speak whilst we are out walking, it's not too strenuous to just say hello !! Luckily there's more pleasant folks around than those that aren't!!
