I don't really get why all the hate for Meg White. I mean sure, if you ask her to play a Dream Theater song, she won't make it past the 1st measure. But if you were to ask Portnoy or Mangini to play with Jack White some White Stripes tunes, I guarantee you, Portnoy and Mangini will ruin it. My point is, Meg White's drumming is the perfect fit for Jack's guitar parts and that's all what matters.

I honestly don't understand why people complain about Meg White. If it wasn't for Meg White, the White Stripes wouldn't have existed in the first place. Sure you don't listen to this band for the amazing drumming, but you can't deny how unique it is and how easily recognisable it is. It's kind of iconic. Jack's other bands and solo stuff are good but way more "polished" compared to The White Stripes. Being mainly a fan of The White Stripes, I feel like it's missing something.

TheThingsThat IDo Proper warm up techniques, breathing exercises, properly breathing while you sing, and knowing your natural range, are all important to not killing your voice as a touring performer. There is a good DVD called 'The Zen of Screaming' that outlines all of basic training needed. When I was singing a lot for the first time it really helped me. I can't speak for what Mr. White actually does himself though.

Could you imagine the crap these two took in the beginning playing with not caring about mistakes and not being perfectionists and not what people consider a full band? It's obvious she's not the best drummer and he's not the best guitarist. But they are definitely artists. Imagine looking at the Dutch Golden Age paintings all your life and then being introduced to Picasso's work. Scrolling through the comments on all their videos makes me realize just how divisive this band is for listeners lol you really do either love them or hate them. Jack, though he possesses all means to display musical virtuosity, has always been more interested in the emotion conveyed through a song and performance. This can fool many to believe he is not talented. This is not the case. Jack simply finds beauty in different things than those who dislike his music. This means you either see the same beauty or you don't, which all comes down to the lens by which you look through to find value in music. It's different for everyone.
@KevinKoolx

I just love how Jack just decides he wants to play in open D right after Ball and Biscuit. While tuning his guitar it's still sounds musical. Jack's energy and showmanship live is on an other level! +Fuzzy I love her simplicity playing and I've been playing drums since 1987. Wish she still was... which makes me wonder if she ever sits at home and still has some jams on her drumkit every once in a while. *sigh*

+Joseph Schmoe LOL I know huh? I remember using a cardboard box when needed, finally got a kit because nobody else would. I think one of Meg's kits is in the R&R hall of fame area that features female rockers, the other W.Stripes era kit she had she gave it to charity :/ hope that isn't a sign.. I bet they will get together for one or two more, I just wish it was sooner rather than later! Glad to hear from you man, keep up the good work 🙌

I respect her drum style, but she's almost as bad as Lars Ulrich at keeping time

millions of fans and critical acclaim =/= being an solid drummer. What i perceive is that being a bad musician just for the sake of being a bad musician it's very artful these days.

Jack didn't want her to be "good". She was just supposed to keep her playing very simple and childlike to a point, as Jack White has said before in interviews, to back up the riffs and serve the songs. I thought she was really good at that. Sometimes playing overly-simple is harder to do for some drummers who've been playing for a while than trying to show off your skills with complex beats or fills being flashy... and yeah i thought she was really hot, to be honest about it. Probably still is.

*repost ......GOD. DAMN. For anyone that thought genuine rock music was dead in the 2000's, then please, accept this music as evidence to the contrary. *1) SURE: the majority (if not all) of The White Stripes' music is "In-your-face/vocally-nasally/Messy/Jimmy Page-on-Acid/soft-to-heavy-to-soft, 'Garage-rock-turned-to-11" sound wasn't for everyone. Even I myself, who loves thi sound, has to be in the right mood to listen to their one-dimensionally LOUD (albeit incredible-sounding,) music - especially their live stuff. So, I understand that. *2) HOW ANYONE wouldn't/couldn't/didn't at least RESPECT this music, is beyond me - and deeply saddens me. It is INCREDIBLY skillfully-performed, original, visceral ART. And that is comparing them to their contemporaries/peers AND their predecessors within the entirety of popular music as a whole. Speaking personally, I categorize TWS among the very best of other 'over-powering, guitar-driven' music (like Nirvana, Metallica, and Black Sabbath, and Audioslave, to name a few). ...This! Is! Music! People! ...It! Was! Right! There! In! Front! Of! You! For! 9! Years!

The ones who dont do not understand the true value of those gifted in music. Most ppl just listen to wrap. Or rock or pop so on and so forth.if i hear something in any genre. From any specific instrument in any certain song i end up loving it.
