John Entwistle is the bass player and is a huge influence on bass players that came after him like Geddy Lee from Rush and Chris Squire of Yes.

Great, great album. One of the best live recordings ever. Next from this album…. Magic Bus. You won’t be disappointed. And from what you said, you haven’t experienced Tommy, or Quadrophenia yet. So you’ve just scratched the surface of a very deep rabbit hole worth jumping into. I was lucky enough to experience this music when it came out, and to see The Who perform in the 70’s. Back then, they were the best group to see live. Bar none. And the bass player is John Entwistle. One of the best. He also played horns, and had both the deepest voice (listen to Boris The Spider), and the highest falsetto in the group.

Funny thing about John Entwistle: he hated playing Magic Bus. He said something like, "It's just one note going thump - thump - thump." Or words to that effect.

NOTHING like live Who. Blessed to have seen these guys, original band with Keith. Greatest show of my life

On this recording, ‘My Generation’ is followed by ‘See me, Feel me’ which leads into music from their rock opera ‘Tommy’. The full band of Pete Townsend (guitar), Keith Moon (drums), John Entwistle (bass) and of course Roger Daltrey (vocals) were at the peak of their powers. Without question, they were the best live band of their age - period, full stop. Long live the Who!! Great reaction - love the channel. Cheers!

Man, you've chosen a epic live jam to start your dive into The Who. The entire LEEDS album is awe-inspiring. It's generally ranked near or at the top of the best live album lists. If you want to check our more live Who, go to the rest of the LIVE AT LEEDS album (recorded at Leeds University, February 14, 1970), "Young Man Blues" and "Water" from the Isle Of Wight festival 1970, "See Me, Feel Me", "Sparks", "Summertime Blues", "Pinball Wizard" and "My Generation" from Woodstock and "Roadrunner/My Generation Blues" from the Pontiac Silverdome 1975. Plus there's the great studio albums: WHO'S NEXT, QUADROPHENIA, TOMMY, SELL OUT, WHO BY NUMBERS, MY GENERATION. Dive down the Who rabbit hole, Rory. You'll love it. And the awesome bass player in The Who? John Entwistle. Best rock bassist ever.
