I was like what the hell and FB did review my post, they did admit they made a mistake, but I still cannot use the marketplace. I guess now Zucker thinks I'm selling kids for 5 dollars on Facebook of all places. Edit: spelling

That's one thing but does she not know how to tell a scam by looking at pictures alone. At all? As a seasoned marketplace buyer I can tell a scam or not local by the pictures. And because it says the location below the listing. If it's in Chicago it will say in Chicago below the name of the listing. If it's not local it says ships to you. And if the picture is to good then you know it's not used. But she overlooked that in this video.

I can explain the "free casket" thing. Often people are at odds about what to to with a dearly departed loved one -burial or cremation, or some have cremation in their wills but their children want to see then once again, have them laid out, etc. so funeral homes often rent caskets for such sitiations. They do get banged up, the funeral home sellsthem or gives them away, and this is a great way for a person without a lot of money that doesn't want to be cremeated to get the job done. That is the LEGITIMATE way this happens.

I don't know about Amazon, UPS, FedEx, and other private couriers and shipping companies, but USPS absolutely does _not_ auction off palettes of unclaimed or undelivered packages. Unclaimed packages will be transferred to holding facilities and warehouses and USPS will hold onto them for literally _years,_ sometimes even indefinitely, with the hope that the rightful owners will eventually turn up. There was an instance where the ashes of somebody's diseased relative were reclaimed by the next of kin after sitting on a shelf in a USPS regional sorting facility for over five years.

Almost every marketplace i have in my country started out as some nice spot to sell some old attic stuff to some other people, but now every company or store selling on there shows up at your specific location because "if they ship it to your front door, it is basically close to your location." This makes shopping for anything on those platforms almost impossible.

So amazon does sell pallets. Not saying these aren't scams on FB marketplace but they don't do it online Also these are not unclaimed packages. If a package is opened or damaged, or if the shipping label falls off, or if the package gets lost in the facility for too long. We have packages get stuck under machinery, because it doesn't get scanned it is declared lost. So when we find it they essentially throw it away. But some larger facilities throw them on pallets and sell pallets for cheap. I suspect the scammers are faking it entirely or they are cherry picking the good stuff then selling users the junk.

Some guy tried to scam me out of $100 once on there. Knowing he didn’t get payed till my item shipped. And it never did. So he didn’t get payed. And then he tried to do it again.

The reason they did that with the breast milk and pump is because you're not allowed to sell those things on fb marketplace. So putting limited info in a picture and telling you to dm them for more information is a way to get around that restriction.

SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME. I was trying to sell my Nintendo Switch and immediately got a response from a lady in a different country. Sus but she said her son lived in my city and would come pick it up since he's the one that wanted it. She asked for my venmo username and email and right then I knew it was really bullshit. I was just pissed I gave them any information at all.

Remember, it takes 14 days for your bank to actually clear a cashier’s check, and those can be faked. My dad told me that when I was trying to sell a couch 🤠

Some scammers will ask for more pictures of electronic devices or expensive items so they can use your images to make more scams with. I recommend putting a watermark on your online listing.

The Honda with the Confederate flag is a race car btw not a street car. Also, NASCAR banned the Confederate flag about 3 years ago from being on their race cars even at local short tracks.

Facebook marketplace is literal cancer. I tried selling there for a time and got nothing but scammers, lowballers, and people asking 20 questions with no intention of buying. It was a complete waste of time and energy.

If those packages are real, they're definitely x-rayed or opened and resealed to remove anything truly valuable from the pool.

Depending on where you live you can actually buy pallets full of lost packages

We have a local "discount warehouse" in Sheboygan that literally made a business buying pallettes of stuff from big box and hardware stores (mostly RMA stuff), the fixing and reselling it... They also get the pallets of undeliverable Amazon and USPS stuff, and it's *actually legit* - and mostly garbage and sex toys. They only open on weekends due to the speed of turnover and time spent fixing and restocking, and have done "mystery boxes" like 3 for $40 where some folks have scored items worth hundreds every so often. They also sell by the pallet on rare occasion, charging around $800 for a mystery stack of boxes. Again, this is legit (if not shady for the gambling aspect), and I'd wager you can't do the same from a consumer level without a history of liquidation and some NDAs on the items origins: the store here will never specifically name the source for most things, opting instead to say stuff like "just got a load of power tools from the orange hardware store" or "truck of Christmas toys from the big red circle just came in"

19:25 We need to analyse the package, if they're buying cheap stuff and making them look like liquidated amazon packages, then they won't have original amazon packing and will be a knock off one instead

Ive taken a few good vehicles to the scrap yard for 600$ each, i just didnt have the time to fix the minor issues, and just bought new ones, when i could have sold them on fb etc probably for 2000$, but i didn't want to deal with internet idiots. I dont have time, or patience to deal with that stuff. Lol. Edit: that first coffee table you clicked on, i actually own, just in the darker colour. That said, i bought it from my wife's store thats about 10km away, so i just drove up there, and put it in the back of my truck. Well. One of her employees did since i had a broken knee at the time. Lol. Its quite handy to have l'Il admit.

I know people crap on eBay especially when they find out about the FORMER employee harassment campaign, but it's not that crazy. Just don't put your items on bid, and if a buyer complains about something that didn't happen you can have eBay dispute the rating and get their negative feedback taken down.

as a canadian ive had a lot of success on facebook marketplace. my advice to any1 thinking to buy electronics: test it in front of them before you pay or ask for a video or some other proof. ive never been scammed & every seller has been nice & genuine but the states do be crazy 😅😅. always be cautious & smart

I had a bad experience too. I went to buy some computer speakers from a Muslim lady & had to drive alot. She revealed she's only taking cash & wouldn't take FB pay or credit. I said I'd go inside to get some cash & just wait. It wasn't pleasant but when I got the money from cashback she left & blocked me on the site. I created a new account just to find the item again & give her a piece of my mind. There wasnt anything else I could do

They put in all that work to pre-date posts and make a semi-credible looking profile, but then can't use a simple spellchecker that's literally integrated into practically every email platform. Like what???

Why would Amazon even sell unclaimed packages? the reason they're packaged in the first place is because someone bought them, shouldn't any undelivered packages be a failure on Amazon's part?

Btw.... If you're calling someone and it starts saying something about " the Google Subscribers...." .... It may be the person using a feature ( I use it on my android phone... it's some version of Moto)that allows you to screen the call.... Next time I use it I'll try and remember to come back with the exact phrase the feature uses while answering the call It works by giving me a text transcript of what the caller is saying.... Then I can choose to pick up/ hang up/or choose from some phrases for the AI voice to ask for me. I haven't fully checked it out yet... Not sure if one can type a sentence for the AI to repeat. I kinda hope it does...cause my real time communication abilities are not reliably functioning rn😅 But I can still fully communicate in text form.
