@@playman1202 You cannot understand a culture without its cultural heritage and its history. In some parts of the world, people are reconnecting to the values of their ancestors. It is often their personal decision to lead a life away from western modernity. You may see it as a time capsule, but it is as real as our lifes. It all depends on the perspective. There's more than the "modern" ideas of the western progressives.

For those of us who will probably never travel to Africa, this was a very interesting video! It showed us that people can be happy even in difficult circumstances. You mentioned that the children are being taught a modern education. Up till about a hundred years ago in America and Canada, the governments implemented a policy of "forced assimilation" when it came to Native Americans. Children were taken from their parents and reservations and forced to attend white people's schools. Their long hair was cut. they had to dress in white people's clothes, and they had to speak English. If they spoke their native language they were punished. Sadly, many of these children were abused and even molested. Some were killed. In recent times, about 1,900 graves holding mostly Native American children have been discovered in Canada.

I agree with the touristical comments. I traveled much less, but did live on (my) sailboat, in San Diago, USA, for 5 years. Even traveling my boat, I quickly found it all disappointingly touristical. I too wanted the true adventure... maybe I need to sneak past the poles?

Very nice propaganda plug at the end! 10/10, subtle, effective, 'powerful' Who needs all the 'progressive' stuff when you can just play with sticks and stones? Let's not mention that all wardrobe and tools that they have are 100% imported from Europe/USA as aid. I feel like this video is preparing Russian ppl for harsh reality of their future and/or push "alternative/more affordable" way of traveling. Great talent, too bad you work for propaganda, but I don't blame you. There is no work in Russia otherwise... you either scrape pennies on your labor or work for the government.

A most astute observation starting at 21:21... it put a knot in my throat and an inkling of a tear in my 👁... take a look at a metropolis such as Detroit that is an urban ghost town after only little more half a century from the time when it was the world's center for automobile manufacturing, then compare it with the timeless rhythms of the Massai way of life... amazing video and sage reflections on the nature of being human beings...

Nice video. Unfortunately there are less and less wild animals. Visitors always visit the same Maasai villages, one or two. Other Maasai communities are closed to tourists. The Samburus are even more fascinating. I had the opportunity of spending some time in Kenya, visiting places that are not touristic. It was a fascinating experience but also it was very sad to be aware of the eminent extinction of the wild world.
