This video only just scratched the surface of the full story of the Windrush generation. I have an old advert up in my loft, that was commonly seen back then, in windows of tenement properties...It goes like this, "Rooms or room to rent... NO BLACKS NO IRISH NO DOGS." The racism and ill-treatment faced by the Windrush generation, was barbaric, to put it mildly.

There is a white woman who resides in Jamaican claiming that this advertisement is false and it never actually happened and it was a myth passed off as truth you should post it

I have learned more about Jamaica from being subscribed to this channel in 3 months than in 23 years.

People have found it difficult to get compensation. The people of the Windrush generation are not migrants they were invited to Britain to clean up the mess and build Britain!

Something I never understood, after 300 years of British rule why did they think England was going to be any difference when it came to their treatment and conditions? Even when they sent back messages about how bad the conditions were in England thousands of people still followed and bought into the dream and came over.

I wouldn't completely say this was a dark chapter in our history. It was a story of migration not too dissimilar to what's been happening to this day. They were pioneers who set the stage for the black community in the UK & are the reason why there are so many anti discrimination laws & are why racism is taboo here. They also established the Jamaican & wider Caribbean diaspora here & made it so that later Caribbean & African immigrants who came after have an easier time in this country. The windrush scandal whilst horrible didn't affect the majority of windrush people who are still here
