well, I saw pictures of the Les Grands Ballets before a show, and lol, they had all braided their hair, tin braids, so NO, I guess some of u have big curly hair, but not that ''poofy''. You only get that by braiding it the day before in wet hair, then take it out the day after, and carefully use a fine comb or brush to get the volume! And don't try to tell me otherwise, I'm a hairdresser!

@Gille87 my 1st reply was to your comment on the prev. page about the Les Grand Ballets, you may be right about them.. I dont know what they do.. but I thought you were saying that there are no polynesians at all with naturally poofy hair!, that we all have to braid it for it to b like that! lol.. all good.. I understand what you mean.. you are right, there is no one race that has ALL the same hair.. just similar in general.. ppl are mixed as well.. but some are pretty much ALL the same

ok well she does have beautiful polynesian hair. heres a little insightful information about types of hairs in the pacific, melenesian people have afro type hair, polynesian have curly poof hair and us micronesians have straight hair but sometimes, there are micronesians with curly hairs. i like polynesian girls hair...so nice and beautiful.

It's called the Fa'arapu movement meaning "fast" or "quickly" and for your information not all Tahitians or Cook Island women have that long hair. I'm Tahitian but was born in America and I naturally have long hair , wavy hair with or with flat iron! I'm a mixed race and that's what causes me to have that beautiful hair type it comes down my back. Basically what I'm saying is that you don't have to have long hair to be Tahitian or from any other Island.

@bzlilb yea I think its beautiful how Tahitians embrace their polynesian hair and let it out they don't tie it up in a bloody bun all the time like I see some of my samoan cousins do :S lol I definately want to try that flower scented Coconut oil! lol I' I've tried Manoi oil? it didnt really control my hair.. but I have tried 'Moroccan Oil' its fricken $50 a bottle but it is DA BOMB, it gets rid of frizz & makes it soft.. does Coconut oil cause more growth? does anyone know?

And just b'cuz u live in a state where there are many Filipinos, doesn't mean u know us, our history or anything for that matter. Many Filipinos has curly hair, but it's straight hair that's trendy in the Philippines, not big and curly! So I guess many of them have a straightener at home, and I've straight hair, but when it gets to long, it gets curly, and many of my fellow Filipino friends that are girls, have curly, and wavy hair, but they don't like it, so they use straightening irons!

okay we have to agree to disagree on this one MissNohailani! lol.. I think big hair is sexy! but you can get sick of too much of one thing!.. obviously you've been 'poofed out' and i've been 'straightened out' LOL!! .. if you naturally have curly hair then i admire you for making the effort to straighten and keep it straight!! that's part of why i support having your hair natural (unless it is naturally straight).. I just cbf straightening it! takes ages!!

@Gille87 @Gille87 for example africans or chinese.. i think i can safely say ALL full africans would have that afro hair and Im sure MOST chinese have that dead straight hair.. I have seen some asians with naturally curly hair tho.. coz Ive met filipinos with curly hair, maybe its bcoz of the ancestry (how everyone evolved, wherever all us coconuts came from) or maybe its bcoz of the tropical weather.. or maybe its because of your spanish heritage

dont b jealous! lol u're not polynesian gille or even seem to know many or enough polynesians to know all the different kinds of hair polynesians can have & that many DO have this poofy hair NATURALLY i kno bcoz my mum has course poofy hair, she is full samoan many tahitians would have some french in them so its understandable if some have thin hair also alot that naturally have this kind of hair are usually samoan or tongan and tie it back all the time or straighten it when tahitians embrace
@BrightStar5972

She's really good, but my eyes get distracted from her fixing her skirt all the time. There's two-sided tape. Maybe that will help the skirt from riding up. You want her hair like that? After you shower, divide your hair into little parts and braid it all over like a Rasta-girl. Sleep with those braids over night andin the morning before compitition, take them out and fluff only with your fingers..no brush!.

@MasinaTai86 lol why would I be jealous?? i know what I'm who I'm, and my history, and where my ancestors came from, and their legacy! And please re-educate about our common ancestry (DNA) cultures and history, before telling me what I'm! And I think I know a lil bit more about hair than u do hun;P And for ur info most of my fellow Austronesian ( SEA) brothers and sisters got curly and poofy hair >< They just use straighteners!
