I'm so happy you watched this! This is one of those 80's gems that got a little lost to time, so I love that you found it. And right? Michelle Pfeiffer is one of those women who actually got *more* beautiful with age. Like, if you compare her early 20's with her early 40's, early 40's wins hands down in the beauty department. It's the cheekbones, lol.

Maybe Jack's most underrated/under appreciated role. The church monologue is a CLASSIC! Btw, this film was shot mostly in the small coastal town of Cohasset, MA (yes, almost all of the backdrop was real, not set design). I seem to remember that church having to issue an apology to parishoners after the movie's release, trying to say they weren't notified of the content of Jack's tirade before hand. Yeah. Right. The $2000 a day they got for allowing the shoot had NOTING to do with it LOL

Odd trivia: the exterior and some exteriors of the house were Castle Crane in Ipswich while some interiors were Greystone in Beverly Hills. Flowers in the Attic also used the exterior and interiors of Castle Crane; however, when they had to reshoot the ending, they also ended up using Greystone (which is owned by AFI and made available to several films and TV shows including the Dark Shadows 1990 miniseries and The Vampire Diaries).

Count me in with the Moonstruck recommendations, Susan Sarandon in Bull Durham was the most sexually confident woman I'd ever seen in my teenage LIFE omgggg, that fruit in the basket Jack brought Michelle was passionfruit (i've also heard that about the apple being the pomegranate!), and for some weird trivia, decades ago a read that it was actually a real cold sore Michelle had on her lip and they shot the sickness scenes during it so they didn't have to try covering it up while it was at its most.... voluminous? I dunno, but I swear it was in an interview where I read it, and you can see it vaguely in other earlier scenes too. Sorry my trivia is kinda icky, I'm so glad you reacted to this!

They did a remake, but I hate how computer magic it is but the original with Angelica is more organic because this was before computers were used for every special effect. Also the biggest reason why i recommenced the original and not the new one is because of Angelica's dress. I wont say why but if you get a chance to react to the film, the surprise The dress has is super amazing!

Watching this as a kid, I was mostly here for the vomit. Had that sh*t on repeat. But now that I think about it, it may also be the reason why I've never eaten cherries...

Oh if you liked the Witches from Eastwick, you need to watch The Stepford Wives with Nicole Kidman & Bette Midler … also based on a famous feminist horror novel 🎉
