I'll never forget seeing them at The Shadow in Kansas City on the Queer tour of the US. It was a tiny venue which just made it all the more intimate & special. I was even able to shake hands & say hello. I was young and spellbound. They opened for The Charlatans (I left before they even played a song 😄). I was praying they'd play "Shut That Door", and they did! Still a big admirer all these years later. Just discovered "Unremembered, Remembered." What an unexpected treat! Thank you for many years of music that carried me through some truly grizzly times ♥

Massive f'n awesomeness! I can't believe I just found this... it's been so long. Whoa. This makes me want to get up and dance... and sad at the same time. I met TWP the first time they came to LA, and several times afterward. Mic will remember the tshirts I made. Was lucky enough to hang with the band, too, back in that ancient past (mid to late '80s). Never got to see Time live. :-( If you see this Andrew, I was your "LA fan" - if you recall, I wanted you to teach me your guitar techniques! We all went to Trent's party at that infamous house together, among other things. Much love to you guys. Miss you all, still love your music! TWP will always be among my all time favorite bands (of which there are only a few).

One of my favorite bands. Still listen to regularly, esp the Big Sex EP. Saw one of their few live shows in NYC at a small venue. For some odd reason not many showed up but they were amazing. Amazing! Thanks for the live video.

Thank you very much, Andrew. There is much love for Wolfgang Press. Many good memories... 1. Tom Allen Centre, a small theatre in a housing estate in East London. Everyone was sat down on a rig of seats, except me, my then ladyfriend and drunk Scot with a small bottle of whisky. Despite encouragement, most stayed sitting prompting a lyrical divergence..."Most people just fall in love, some people just sit on their arse". 2. Subterranea - a wintry Saturday afternoon gig. 3. Very Embarrassing moment stood at the bar at Harrow College of Higher Education - In between lectures, I was trying to explain to a mate that I couldn't make a party because I had tickets to see TWP and Xmal Deutschland....turned around with my beer and Mick was stood behind me - slight eye contact was made and I slithered away. 4. Aylesbury - Aston Halls. Gig put on by a local lad who was a fan. Lad went for a couple of pre-gig beers with most of the entourage (except Marc) and enjoyed humorously scurrilous tittle tattle mostly involving other bands on 4AD. Mick got cross because they couldn't do the usual protracted beginning to set starter Rotten Fodder....but didn't stop a blistering rendition. Lad declines offer from the hired sound man to tape the gig...Lad thought it was rude and didn't dare ask Band. Band, on learning Lad had lost a few quid on the night, returned a few minutes after bidding farewell to reimburse a few quid of their fee.Not many get to experience the good-egg-ness of bands. These were good eggs. (And I was the Lad)

There was a time when i bought most stuff on 4AD. Birdwood Cage i really loved; dark and different. Cut the Tree from Lonely is an Eyesore was top class as well, although i thought that This Mortsl Coil were the highlight of that compilation video and cd boxset.

Oh shit, I just stumbled upon this video! I've never seen video of the band live before ... I went to a show in Dallas 1995 and it was fantastic. I wish these shows could have been documented more. I would love a live album or full-length concert video!

I hear that! Even smaller bands usually have something available. Their live shows were very good as well. They were dropped by 4AD after Funky Little Demons (probably because album sales were under par, but there are rumours about naughty behaviour, etc.). 4AD ain't what it used to be! They were truly indie & not commercially geared at all. So, perhaps, it's just not economically viable for the new 4AD to release the stuff we'd love to see & hear? That would be my guess.

How I wish the bird wood cage album tour was on yt! I think that was their peak. I saw them at a club with nick cave back in 1988. Nick cave stopped a song to say "you are getting on my nerves" to someone in the audience. Or was it between songs. Twp introduced songs by saying: this song says nothing at all.

@@CountDadLord Awesome. Wish I coulda seen that. Strangely, I don't recall heckers during their LA area shows. It may have been because I was so into each and every second that I didn't notice. But I really think it was because for their first few trips through SoCal they played small(ish) "underground" clubs. Their very first show in LA got moved three times and ended up at a - believe it or not - country and western bar! The locals didn't know what the f was going on, but fortunately no drunk shit-kickers got too incensed. Only about a dozen or so of the most devout made it to the show. My buddy and I got drafted into ersatz roadies to help unpack the van and move in the band's gear. Mic "adopted" me, and after that, I was a fixture at their SoCal shows. The stage was only 1' off the dance floor, and we all were no more than an arm's length from the band during the show. It was f'n epic!

@@CountDadLordJees yes I remember that. How bizarre that those moments stick out. From my sketchy memory, it looked like he 'donked' him with it. They were imo, better and more interesting than NIN.
